(chat rooms, breakout rooms, hangouts.)  Students need to feel a personal connection with their classmates and their teacher.  Make sure to do icebreaker and getting to know you activities to help create connections.

2. Make office hours.  Students will have questions about assignments.  Set up regular virtual office hours so students can contact you for help when needed.

3.  Organize small group interactions.   "It helps them delve deeper into the material in a real-time conversation with fellow students instead of replying to a forum or trying to figure it out by themselves." (Mclellan, L. 2020)

4. Offer students multiple options for assessment. Give students several options to show what they know about a subject. Self-regulation--This is your ability to control your emotions and motivate yourself to get work done.  if this is hard for you, here are some tips:
1. Form a study group
2. Exchange emails, texts with a classmate
3. Attend office hours with your teacher to ask questions

Metacognition--This is your ability to assess how well you are doing. Your teacher will not be able to offer as much feedback as he/she would in a live classroom. It is important for you to look at your graded assignments and see how you can improve.  Reach out to your teacher for feedback if you are not sure.
