I think the quote " A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor.", means that if you are given an easy task, you will never truly be skilled at it. One experience for me is knots in scouts. I never really practiced that much so I wasn't great at it. I practiced and mastered it. I also kind of practiced only the easy ones and then practiced the harder ones.

It made you better because you started out hard. This relates to my life because one time I tried roller skating fast like the other people but it made me a better roller skater.

A example in my life is when I first started to make Perler Beads I had to use patters on the internet, and I got so frustrated because I would always get it wrong, but when I started making my own patterns I learned that I didn't have to be perfect I just had to think it was good in my own eyes! And the quote means you have to go through hardships in life to accomplish your dreams!

I think the quote "A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor" means, if we don't face challenges it won't make us better at anything. Speaking from my experience in volleyball. When I was 5, I went to summer camp, they praised me for even just hitting the ball, they didn't know that I could actually play because I was so small. During that summer I never got better because no one challenged me to play against them, nothing was hard.

I think the quote "A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor" means that you don't need someone to help you become skilled. I think this because the sea is something a sailor needs to be a sailor but it doesn't mean they need it to be a skilled sailor. I also think this because sometimes people say they need an item but it doesn't make them a skilled person. An example from my life is that I have a dog but it does not effect me in any way.

If you do something that's a little bit harder than what you're comfortable with. In my life, long division was hard, but I kept going. I didn't give up. And now it is impossible for me to get stuck on a long division problem. Put in some challenges. If you don't, you won't be very happy in the end.

People don't just have everyone do everything for them, people risk things and take charge of a challenge because they want to succeed in life. Also to experience it better. An example from my life was when I had to do my homework and I would always do it my way but then I tried doing the teachers way and it helped even though it looked very complicated it worked way better than my way.
