Laura Molteni _ Veg curry for dummies

Last week I found a terrific recipe on the web that I'd like to share with you because:

1) it's very easy

2) you can modify it depending on the ingredients you have in your fridge and larder

First thing, you should like Indian spices, because I'm going to tell you how to prepare a vegetable curry!

The original recipe includes fresh pumpkin and chickpeas, but you can use and mix whatever you like. Then, to make it faster, I used already cooked ingredients, so I bought pre-steamed pumpkin (300 gr) and tinned chickpeas (400 gr).

Chop an onion and put it in the pan with oil. Add 1 tbs garam masala, 1tbs turmeric, 1tbs hot paprika and 1tbs curry. Then add the pumpkin (cut in small chunks), the chickpeas and some tomato sauce or double concentrated tomato paste and veg broth (otherwise the gravy is too dry). Add salt. Cook for 15 minutes and serve it with basmati rice or couscous, for a more fusion dish. Ah! These ingredients are for 2 (hungry) people.

Laura Molteni - Don't let guru brands taking the piss out of you

Granted that I know co-branding is an important part of the business to create awareness, especially exploring new markets, I wonder how sometimes the (fashion) system think we are all foolish.

So the last news is that Valentino collaborated with Fornasetti in creating some design pieces: a dish, a tray, a stool and a sunglass case. And what the collaboration is about? A camouflage background behind the artist drawings. Wow. Amazing. That's creativity! That's Valentino style. But... are we joking?

These two brands are really between my favourites in fashion and design, and maybe for this I feel so defrauded. You can't churn out munched products just because you are two big names. You can do something better, c'mon!

Hi, I agree
with you Laura. This looks like a ‘last resort’ choice by two partners wanting
to exploit their fame to make new business, but being short of ideas. Although
I do not know the whole Valentino’s portfolio, I’m pretty sure he created
something better that the camouflage pattern. from an aesthetic point of view it
seems to me that Valentino is the one gaining most from the partnership. Fornasetti
had an overwhelming creativity, and his signature seems to get lost in the
greenery.

Let’s keep
alert and not be hit by such co-branding!
