A TRUE FRIEND

I'm a busy person. After class I immediately go to my workplace, I don't have time to hangout with my friends in school but Yumi always check on me and always helps me when I need help. Even sometimes I can't go with them they never forget me.

I was struggling to focus in class, overwhelmed by anxiety and family issues. My classmate, Adriana, noticed my distress and approached me after lecture.

One afternoon at the NTC library, I struggled to find a vacant seat in the crowded space. Just as I was about to leave, a guy noticed me and offered his seat with a kind smile. I was surprised and grateful for his thoughtful gesture. It may have been a small act, but it meant so much to me. That moment reminded me of how even simple kindness can brighten someone’s day.

I saw a student who's reading a book at the Chill deck and there this another student who's finding a chair to study, I can't do anything because my area is already loaded but the student who is reading a book lend her chair so the student can study also. This reminds me that even though it's just a little thing to help but it brings joy and that joy really help them that they are so thankful.

A reminder that a simple act of kindness can light up a heart.🌷💜

It was when the time we were practicing a dance for an assembly. We were at the side of the stage near the canteen. And there were volleyball players in the middle, while we were dancing a ball came out flying straight to me. I got hit but the person who hit me came up to me and apologized immediately. I got hurt but I was glad that person knows how to properly say sorry

Once upon a time, I saw a janitor and students at the canteen of National Teachers' College. Moving forward, after the students eat their lunch, they clean their table. That little act of kindness made my heart melt because not a lot of people are like that. It's just a small thing for us but a big help to those janitors/janitresses.

One of the kindnesses I experienced at NTC was having good friends who supported me in my singing.

This happened when I was getting my ID. Since I was new, I didn’t know anyone in the line, but someone approached me. She talked to me, and I felt that we instantly clicked, especially since we shared the same sense of humor. While waiting in line, we talked all night until it was our turn. I thought our interaction would end there, but no. We even bought ID laces together. She was so kind to me because she didn’t make me feel like we had just met, and I felt the same way. She even helped me get to Quiapo since I wasn’t familiar with the place, and she paid for my jeepney fare as well. With that small interaction and kindness, I really appreciated her and was very happy because she was my first friend who approached me inside the campus. She helped me to become much more positive and friendly to others as well. I also realized that day that you can make friends with others just don't be shy and be approach others as well. Now we are still friends, although I don’t see her on campus since her course is tourism.

I witnessed a beautiful act of kindness on campus that really made my day. While I was sitting in the library, a student dropped a stack of books, causing them to scatter all over the floor. Before they could even start picking them up, a stranger immediately rushed over, helped gather the books, and even offered a reassuring smile. What struck me most was how the person didn’t hesitate, offering help with no expectation of anything in return. It was a small act, but it made a big difference, turning a potentially frustrating moment into one of warmth and connection. Kindness really can be contagious, and it’s these little gestures that make our campus feel like a community!

Recently, I’ve been touched by the kindness of my classmates, who consistently check up on me whenever we’re at school. Their small acts of kindness have brightened my spirits and reminded me how important it is to support one another. I’m truly grateful for their thoughtfulness, and it inspires me to reach out and be there for others, too.

Me and my groupmates at PE had a practice that morning nearby at school for our finals and since my groupmates from Budget Proposal Planis also my groupmates in PE, we decided to have a meeting on the afternoon to discuss about our reporting for finals. Then we decided to go to 3rd Floor because it is ver quiet and peaceful so we sat down at the hallway. The Guard saw us at the hallway and he decided to let us use a room for us since the one who used that room, left early so since they're plenty of time left, he let us use that room

I've always perceived people as a ball of sunshine and makes me feel like distress is not a better option to live my life. Reflecting on my experiences, I've always felt like I have a purpose in this world to make it a better place, by making people feel pleased and better.

I once greeted my friend a Happy New Year and I didn't expect to recieve this message:

"Happy new year yumiii our deep convos after classes became one of the reasons why I never despised attending classes! Sana masarap Ang kinain mo kanina! (sent with new years effect)."

My soul felt like it achieved Nirvana (Enlightenment) proving me that I was worth a friend and a human—more likely to be also considered as theur BALL OF SUNSHINE. I honestly felt like material things cannot define the heartwarming message that I received in New Year's Eve. To this person, Thank you for this! I love u more <3

As I am leaving school in the afternoon, I saw Kuya school guard, helping students cross the street safely.

Me: “Thank you, Kuya Guard, for always keeping us safe!”

Kuya Guard: [smiling] “Of course! That’s my job. Take care on your way home.”

Me: “You too! Salamat po!”

(And then I walk away, feeling grateful for his hard work and dedication.)

Simple act of gratitude, like thanking a school guard, can mean a lot. It reminds them that their efforts are seen and valued, boosting their morale and encouraging them to continue doing their job with pride. They play a crucial role in ensuring everyone’s safety, and our kind words can make their day brighter and their work more fulfilling.

I felt sad and disappointed and even considered not joining anymore. But my Filipino homeroom teacher, who believed in me, told me that I didn’t need a group to participate. She assured me that my skills were as good as those of five people combined. With her encouragement, not only did she help me create my big book story, but she also made me feel worthy and confident in my abilities.

In the end, I won the competition despite being alone. It was her belief and trust in me that made it all possible. That experience made me feel proud and confident in myself, and to this day, I am still thankful for what my teacher did.

One day, while i was going upstairs to our classroom there is one girl who's in front of me on the stairs, she has loads of things to carry and she suddenly slipped and almost fall, good thing i was there to aid her and helped her to avoid disaster. I was caught off guard when that happened and the sudden reaction of me came in clutch to save her. I was grateful that she isnt harmed and injured and that encounter made me realize that i am capable of helping others

Me and some friends were just chilling inside the campus and High school students were training for their athletic meet. I saw table tennis, a sport of mine, and I asked if I could play with them, and they agreed, playing with the coach and their players as well. The coach noticed that I was decent at the game, and he asked me if I could train his players , and I agreed, Not only did I enjoy playing, I also felt that sharing my knowledge about the game can really help the player of NTC and seeing that player improved so much feels great.

Recently, I’ve been going through something hard. Something that made me question my worth and got me having self doubts. But even if life’s hard like that, my true friends are with me through it. They never fail to make me feel heard and seen. They let me talk about the same problem again and again because that person hurt me so much. But they never get tired of listening to me and making me realize things. They’re not just there when things are good, but they hold me tighter when things are bad. I am truly grateful for them :)

I went to our cafeteria to buy something. I was planning to pay using my GCash, but unfortunately, I lost my internet connection. A random guy was also there, so I kindly asked if I could connect to his hotspot. He agreed, which, for me, was a small yet meaningful act of kindness. He had the option to decline but didn’t.

This week, after a particularly challenging class, my blockmates and I decided to stay behind the hallway. What started as a casual conversation turned into a hilarious exchange of jokes and stories that had everyone laughing so hard we forgot about the stress of assignments and deadlines.

It reminded me of how important it is to surround yourself with people who lift your spirits, especially during tough times. Having a good companion in my blockmates makes me feel supported and reminds me that we're all in this together.

It was our CLM class, and that time I was having a hard time opening the door since it was difficult to open due to its weight. However, I had this one classmate; at that time, I didn't know his name, and we were not yet close at that time, so I thought he'd just open the door for him to get in the room, but… I was kind of shocked since he stayed for a few seconds for me to get in. I was like, "Awwee," because of what he did, knowing that not all men can do that, and we did not know each other at that time, so I was flattered.

I experienced kindness from my new friend whom I met at NTC school. She's not stingy and always treats me when she has something. When I first met her, I felt a little awkward since our first talk, but as time went by, I learned more about her and she's really kind and generous.

She's one of a kind as a friend because she's rare to find. For example, one time my cat went missing, and she helped me look for it even though we searched until dawn. She also takes care of rescued and adopted cats, which is unique because others might come up with excuses or ways to avoid helping, but this friend of mine will do everything for me.

She even acts like a boyfriend—more than a boyfriend, actually. She helps me with beauty tips, love life advice, life tips, and even academics. Speaking of academics, she helps me with my assignments and projects. She's really an all-in-one kind of friend.

Actually, I love all my friends equally, but this Irika girl, is one of a kind and top-tier as a friend.

Actually, Irika isn't the only friend I have who's super kind. I actually have more. I met this friend when the school year was about to start. She asked me about my block, and since we were in the same block, I added her to our 1.1 group chat. I also helped her with things like how to enroll, when classes would start, and other details.

But it's not just me helping her—she also helps me, just like Irika does. She gives me tips and life advice as well. And not only that, she also helps me figure out what to wear to make myself look better. I know that I'm not really the type of person who's very put-together, and she noticed it. I don't take it the wrong way when she gives me advice like that; in fact, I appreciate it.

I have that one classmate, who doesn't have enough money to go on our food trip, so I helped her, I treat her, and I realized that helping people around you, is not lack of your character.

My friend Cheska and I do a little gift exchange after the Christmas break. Giving gifts and accepting gifts from someone is something that should be appreciated and acknowledged, especially for us, as a students who don't have our own income, saving our allowance to be able to give something to show our appreciation towards them.

I met someone really special at NTC when she first introduced herself to me at Pasinaya. From that moment on, I just felt comfortable around her, like we’d known each other forever. Now, she’s one of those friends I know I’ll hold onto for life. Every day before class, she surprises me with my favorite iced coffee, and it’s the little things like that that make everything feel a little brighter.

Last welcome concert, I witnessed something that genuinely warmed my heart. As I walked through the campus with my friend from ICT program, we saw a calm and content cat. It was clear that the cat was not just a stray, the campus had a space for animals, and the cat seemed well cared. Since that day, I always see the cat anywhere inside the campus, growing good and healthy.

As a pet lover, It made me realize how wonderful it is that the campus have an inclusive and compassionate environment, not only for students but for pets too. It was a small, simple act of kindness, a place where animals are welcomed and looked after.

It truly made me feel more connected to the campus and grateful to be part of a place that values not just academics, but also empathy and care for all living beings.

The picture attached in this padlet is a sneak peek of the conversation between me and my best friend on January 16, 2025. Nicole and I have been friends since 2016; our 10 years of friendship never fail to amaze me. Her love language is far different than mine because she shows her loved ones how much she loves them, so for me, this message of hers fulfilled me. Since one of my languages is words of wisdom, this meant a lot to me. We are the kind of friends that didn't talk for hours and hours every day. We are not like that anymore since we have studies to prioritize and life to live. We only talk to catch up with our lives, and we like having dates when we have free time and when we are both here in Manila since she has a dorm and is studying at UP Diliman; also, our schedule didn't always match.

Nicole is always there for me. She knows different versions of me. She always clapped for me, whether I was winning or failing; she clapped loudly for me, always to the point that I didn't notice who didn't. She is so nice, beautiful, and intelligent, and I love her so much. I know I can't always say it to her, but I know she knows. We love each other so much that we can take a bullet for each other. I hope we live the life we always talked about having. We are each other's ride or die.

it was a typical school morning class and I'm waiting to my friends to arrive, while waiting, I suddenly realized that i need to do a quick makeup retouch before heading into class. I decided to go into the restroom to freshen up quickly. after that I decided to go ahead and use one of the cubicles to change. I hadn’t expected anyone to be in there, as the bathroom seemed empty. But as I started to make my way toward the cubicle, I saw a girl standing near the sinks. then this girl looks like she also need to use the cubicle, but she decides to offer me to go first in the cubicle.
