If you could upload your brain to a computer, would you do it?Imagine this: Your future self uploads your brain to a computer, creating a complete digital replica of your mind. But that version of you is smarter — learning faster than you ever could — and starts to have experiences that the “real” you has never had, in a digital world that you have never seen.Would you be game to try it, and why? Would that digital version of you still be “you?” Should you be free to have a relationship with someone’s digital replica? Are you responsible for the choices your replica makes?

Should a driverless car kill its passenger to save five strangers?A driverless car is on a two-way road lined with trees when five kids suddenly step out into traffic. The car has three choices: to hit the kids, to hit oncoming traffic or to hit a tree. The first risks five lives, the second risks two, and the third risks one. What should the car be programmed to choose? Should it try to save its passenger, or should it save the most lives?Would you be willing to get in a car knowing it might choose to kill you? What if you and your child were in the car, would you get in then? And should every car have the same rules, or should you be able to pay more for a car that would save you?

I would not be game to try it. For one, I dislike when anyone steals something of mine, perhaps a trait that makes me unique, and maybe that is selfish of me, but I still dislike it. Do you like when your special other, best friend or close sibling meet someone new and suddenly you aren’t as important? Of course not, because we like ourselves, even if we hate ourselves we still like who we are, because we put ourselves there. That digital version of me, would not be me, because it would not have my same experiences (after upload) it would not feel how I reacted to uploading my brain because I’ve uploaded (without updates is how I’m seeing this) it and now it’s there. SO no it can’t be me, it doesn’t have my face, or my friends that change me everyday with simple words, which can tear me down and throw me off kilter or build me up and send me into a spur of motivation. So no, the replica may start as you, but people do change, they grow and that affects their brain, so even if the replica started exactly like me within the week we would be different based on my real experiences and it’s virtual ones, meaning I would not be responsible for it’s choices.

Yes, I would try it because I’m very interested on how I would interact with it and which copy of me people would like better. Technically this would not be “me” this replica can learn faster and act differently than I might or would act. I think you could be in a relationship with someone’s replica because that thing still has a personality you enjoy and may be smarter than the actual person is which you might like. No, you can’t be held responsible because you yourself didn’t make that choice a different you made it maybe your intelligence or experiences wouldn’t cause you to do said thing.

I would never get in a driverless car, because if it crashes who do you blame, the car, for not reacting or the cause? But, if push comes to shove I think the driverless car should just stop, shut down, it shouldn’t have to choose between its owner and five strangers. That’s sick. If driverless cars are to be a thing they need to have an emergency mode where they have walls come onto windows and then can crash or something so that the person inside is safe if the car has to crash tis ave someone else. Driverless cars should not be a thing unless they all think the same. And that’s all there is. It’s sick to think about those kinda things and outcomes without having it all.

If the car is about to mow down 20 to 30 people or just kill one family of four then it should kill the four. If I were to get into a driver less car I would defiantly want to know that I, the passenger, am the number one priority. Once again, it is only a risk, it's not definite death. I think I might get into the car, but if I was going to bring a passenger, I would make them aware of all of the risks and then leave it up to them. I think the best solution is to just have a car that has a driver, or to teach kids not to jump out in front of cars.

If I could bring my brain back to my original body and mind, I could come back if I didn’t like it.
I wouldn’t want to have that computer replica of my brain, even if it is smarter than me. I don’t think it would be healthy at all, and the people that would use it would probably get sucked into it and only want to use the replica on a screen. This would make them have no contact with the outside world, and they would become much less smart than they were before.

I think the car should have to choose to kill the least people, so if there are 5 people in the car and 1 person on the streets the cra should be programed to kill the least amount of people.

If this is a town road with a 25 mph speed limit, I would take the risk of hitting the trees. I think it all depends upon the speed limit on the road. If it 30 mph and below, it would be programmed to hit the trees. This eliminates the whole kid situation because kids shouldn’t be walking on a 30 mph road and above. On this type of road, your obstacle would be wildlife, and the car should be programmed to slow the car down by 5-10 mph to give the animal leeway to move. If the car knows that the animal hasn’t moved, it can be assumed dead and can be straddled by the car. Now, for oncoming traffic on a road. This 30 mph and above rule also eliminates the rule of oncoming traffic because it would straddle the animal and on a 30 mph and below it would hit the trees.

The car should be programmed to save the most lives. I would pick to hit the tree because one life lost will inflict less grieving than five or even two lives. Honestly why don’t you slam on the brakes. I would get in and stay alert. I would turn the car off if something bad happened. I would get in the car because literally any car could kill you. If I had a child I would still get in the car. I think that every car should have the same rules.

I think the car should be programmed to save the most lives. I would be selfish to safe myself over kids, and there would be more grieve if the kids die. Although, there is a possibility that the kids don’t die either. I would get in the car and stay alert if I used one. If something happened, I would turn the car off or slam on the brakes. If me and my child could get in a self driving car, I wouldn’t do it. I would only use the car only a few times. I cannot rely that much on technology. I also think they should have different rules for different types because some people are selfish and would choose to save themselves.

The car should be programmed to hit the kids. That sounds really bad, but when you think about it, how often are kids in the road unless it a crossing and they have the clear? Not often. But, it also sounds selfish. There will be a lot of mourning, sadness, and possibly anger. But, if it isn’t just you, maybe you have family, you don’t want them to die as well.

I think I would not get into it. What about if I get in and I have my family? If I am in the car with my family, and it chose to kill us, I just cannot get into a car that has a potential of doing that. Every car should be required to have the same rules.

If my brain is uploaded to my computer, wouldn’t I die. If so, I would let myself live on in this form, but instead of a robot I would like to have a ‘box’ of Makayla. For example if Einstein uploaded his brain into a box then anytime we want to see what he thinks or if he discovers anything new. With people turning into robots they are taking space up, rather if we put them in a box, they don’t take up space and we gain from their intelligence. That is the only way I would promote this or do it myself.

Two maybe I would survive hitting a tree. Three if I am paying close attention I MIGHT be able to jump out of the car.

In the first situation, the car should hit a tree. It will only risk one life instead of five or two. It should try to save the most lives. The passenger might want it to save them, but some people might want to risk their lives instead of endangering others. If the car is programmed to save the most lives then the person who bought it would know the risks. It might be bad for business, but the general population would probably feel safer.

Time would probably be irrelevant to me because my brain would no longer be wired to worry about how much time I have. This is because I have as much time as I want. Zero responsibilities. You would not have to be held down by any morals because anyone I would encounter would be another digital replica and all a moral is, is a rule our mind created to stop us or anyone else from hurting others for self interest.

I think they should make it so it would automatically swerve to the side where the driver was not so it wouldn’t necessarily kill the driver but the driver should be able to set it the opposite way for passengers. If there was some sort of scenario where the car had to choose somehow. Then I would say save the pedestrians because the law sort of requires this. You’re always taking a chance on whether you might die when walking into a car while that person just thought he was going for a walk.
