I think with this is that knowing that it is going to kill you if it takes the least amount of lives is scary but then again it takes a less amount of lives because other people are other people with family and friends and children. I think you should be able to choose what choice your car chooses. If it were me, I would choose the third option, to hit a tree because it only risks one life. Once again, it is only a risk, it's not definite death. I think I might get into the car, but if I was going to bring a passenger, I would make them aware of all of the risks and then leave it up to them. I think the best solution is to just have a car that has a driver, or to teach kids not to jump out in front of cars.

The car should be programmed to hit the kids. That sounds really bad, but when you think about it, how often are kids in the road unless it a crossing and they have the clear? Not often. But, it also sounds selfish. There will be a lot of mourning, sadness, and possibly anger. But, if it isn’t just you, maybe you have family, you don’t want them to die as well. 

I think I would not get into it. What about if I get in and I have my family? If I am in the car with my family, and it chose to kill us, I just cannot get into a car that has a potential of doing that. Every car should be required to have the same rules.

If it was just me in the car I would want it to go for the tree because One if I died at lest I wouldn’t be guilt tripping myself for the rest of my life for killing or seriously injuring someone. Two maybe I would survive hitting a tree. It will only risk one life instead of five or two. It should try to save the most lives. The passenger might want it to save them, but some people might want to risk their lives instead of endangering others. If the car is programmed to save the most lives then the person who bought it would know the risks. Yes, I would literally be immortal with no needs, not having to work, and there would be no hardships. Time would probably be irrelevant to me because my brain would no longer be wired to worry about how much time I have. This is because I have as much time as I want. Zero responsibilities. You would not have to be held down by any morals because anyone I would encounter would be another digital replica and all a moral is, is a rule our mind created to stop us or anyone else from hurting others for self interest.

I think they should make it so it would automatically swerve to the side where the driver was not so it wouldn’t necessarily kill the driver but the driver should be able to set it the opposite way for passengers. If there was some sort of scenario where the car had to choose somehow. Then I would say save the pedestrians because the law sort of requires this. You’re always taking a chance on whether you might die when walking into a car while that person just thought he was going for a walk.
