March was a story told in graphic novel format, I believe this was done in order to have the reader more engaged in the topic. So, when they flip to the next page as they're reading there seeing the pictures and becoming more engaged while also having a mental image and better grasp of what was really happening during that time period. This also enables for a wider age demographic on who is reading, for the reason being most younger children enjoy reading a graphic novel over a regular book.

Showing how because of them marching and protesting it brought more equality to the segregation of black people.

When John Lewis responded to hearing the news of the bombing of Loobys' house and responded "We have to march", this shows the climax of the book for the reason being it introduces the reason for the title of the book. Even though it appears over 90% of the way through the book it shows what all of the background information and prior storytelling leads up to which is the huge march towards the last few pages of the book.
