There were many different cams to choose from, and it was so cool to see the animals move around and interact with each other. I could see using this with my students as we study different animals. I could have them watch the cam and share what they are noticing and relating it to what they already know about that animal.

I visited the Monterrey Aquarium live camera feeds in different tanks. I love anything that has to do with Sealife because I think it is so fascinating! I was able to learn about the different habitats that all the animals lived in while being in the aquarium and even saw the penguins being fed fish! It would give my students an opportunity to see Sealife interact as well as being fed! The students I have right now would love to watch something like this. I could even use this as a calming time video for my students to relax.

I visited the Grand Canyon In Depth. When studying Arizona with the kids for social studies the Grand Canyon is one of the most important things, and living in the valley it is very hard to travel to the Grand Canyon 4 hours away with a classful of students. So when I taught this I actually looked a video similar to this and my students loved it! I was able to show them one of the seven wonders of the world without having to go anywhere! I paired this with photos I had from a recent visit and the kids loved it.

The National Aquarium proved to be a wonderful experience, even in its virtual format. Growing up in San Diego, California, I frequently visited the Birch Aquarium at Scripps in La Jolla, which sparked a lifelong interest in marine life. However, the National Aquarium surpassed my expectations with its extensive range of exhibits and tours. From the captivating journey through ecosystems like Surviving through Adaptation and Upland Tropical Rain Forest to exploring the North Atlantic and Pacific habitats, there was something to explore to ignite my memory. With a total of 15 tours available, each offering unique insights into the various aspects of sea life, I was fascinated by the amount of information provided. Detailed descriptions of animal behaviors, habitats, diets, and population sizes were available, making it a valuable source for school-age students to use for their assignments. Whether used as a tool for classroom education or a personal quest to learn more about our earth, the National Aquarium’s virtual platform eliminates the need to travel, allowing individuals to delve into the wonders of marine biology from the comforts of their homes.

The Great Wall of China and the Forbidden City - Sue Clark

The Great Wall of China is on my bucket list, so this virtual tour was a wonderful place to start. The Great Wall boasts a history of over 2,000 years and stretches more than 3,000 miles long. I loved to see the patina on the bricks of the steps, and I wondered how many footsteps had been on the bricks and what their original color was. As I followed the tours, my mind wandered back to when it was being built, and I wondered who the people were when they laid the mortar and placed the brick, making this fabulous wall. The virtual arc shot of the Forbidden City is an enticing view of what lies within the palace courtyard and how functional and ceremonial it could be. Travel to China is nearly impossible and greatly restricted, so this tour can give insight into what could be expected if visiting in real-time. The only setback was that the full virtual tour cost $50 USD. It would be worth the tour if a class were researching the topic, and its invaluable tour gave students greater knowledge opportunities.

I chose the national aquarium tour because I’ve always been interested in marine life as there are so many different living things that live in our ocean which just intrigues me. I loved how much variety this aquarium has. There are five multiple floors with different categories of sea life in it, the last floor is a rainforest floor to display other living organisms. I also love the big room display that has a floor and walls which you can look down at and around which almost submerges you in a real life experience. There is even a rainforest room which I loved to look through. I appreciated how there was an option to view in VR to make it more immersive. I also learned that the national aquarium is a nonprofit organization completely run by volunteers and donations which was interesting. I would definitely use this site with students during a biology or science lesson about living organisms or sea creatures as each floor has different marine life and even just other living organisms/animals in general.

I chose to visit the nasa and google virtual tour of mars because I’ve always loved and have had an interest in the solar system and learning about environmental science and other planets. This experience was truly immersive and more informational than other virtual tours I’ve visited so far. As you go throughout the map, each checkpoint has a photo taken by the robot curiosity. I just love how interesting this tour is. I could definitely see myself using this site with my students during a science lesson and by asking the students to describe mars in their own terms and make influences based on the information they learned if mars could be habitable one day. The only thing I would change is the ability to move around more freely as there is a guided map/tour you have to follow, but still fun! This was such an out of world experience (no pun intended) as it was full of fun facts and real life photos that made it so much more interesting.

I visited the National Museum of Australia. Australia has always been a place I wanted to visit since I was young so this tour caught my eye the most out of the listed virtual tours. There are so many listed ancient artifacts that are listed and shown on the website! I spent a good amount of time reading each one. The museum also has exhibits of mummified people and animals which is very enthralling and hard to wrap my head around. I do wish there was an actual museum tour where you can click and go through instead of just listed descriptions/photos and youtube videos you watch. I would use this website during a history lesson where students could pick an exhibit to further research on and create a poster about. This was a very cool experience and I hope one day to see all the exhibits in real life one day!

I visited the 'Farm' Tour. I chose this tour because my grandma has a farm in Mexico and wanted to see the difference between a farm in the US versus the one she has! I loved how it appeared to be clean! I learned how dairy cows turn the feed they eat into milk in 24 hours! I had no idea it was that fast. I could use this website to teach my students about agriculture and how the food we eat comes to be!

I visited the Monterrey Aquarium live cams because I love going to zoos and aquariums, so this immediately caught my attention and interest. I think this is a fun resource to use for personal interests and even in the classroom, especially if you're teaching about jellyfish, penguins, otters, etc. The live cam that caught my attention was the jellyfish camera. It was just constant footage of the jellyfish "swimming" in their tank. It was mesmerizing and relaxing at the same time.

I love space history and all the technological advances and creations that we have created to explore space better. I think this could be a fun resource to use when going over the space science standards. It allows the students and teachers access to visiting an important facility that is across the country.

Cavemen /dinosaur exhibits to human origins, to butterflies, etc. There is so much to be learned about all within one place! I would use this tour as an inquiry type exploration. I would ask students to pick 2-3 exhibits that sound interesting to them and to share with us about it. Kind of like this assignment! Or if we are learning about specific things in history as a class I would help lead our museum tour! Using the in person knowledge and lessons we are acquiring but also giving them access to different learning!

I chose to look at the Sam Diego Zoo Live Cams because I love going to the zoo so I thought this would be fun. There are 14 different animal cams that you can look at, and there's a pretty decent variety of animals including monkeys, giraffes, penguins, tigers, and more. I honestly loved this source/virtual museum, I think it is really fun to be able to watch animals in real time. I would 100% use this with students, it could be a great source for a science and animal lesson where they would need to observe the animals and record their behavior or something like that.

The second website I looked at was the Louvre virtual tour. This was really interesting because it was similar to a Zillow listing where you could walk through the museum. However, since there are so many different things to see and it's a huge building, I'm not really a huge fan of how they go about the virtual tour aspect. I don't know if I would use this with my students, it seems more overwhelming/busy than interesting and engaging in my opinion.

Before allowing you to explore, it shows you different aspects of it and also tells you important facts about Easter Island. I think that this is a great way to show students different parts of the world that we aren't able to go to. My only complaint is that there isn't much to explore on your own.

I thought it was amazing that they had videos of how the farm was run. They have a variety of animals and plants, and the website takes us into a deeper look at each of them. The website is not only full of short, understandable descriptions, but also has videos embedded to provide additional information. Students could use this to conduct research on a topic of their choice, whether it was about cows, egg production, oat farm and processing, or greenhouse vegetables.

I chose it originally because we live so much to this incredible landmark, yet few people have been there and know of its wonders. I think it could be a great resource to show my students as we explore different types of environments such as desert and forest. Many different types of plants and animals are also shown in the video. Students can use this video as an introduction into Arizona and its many environments!

I chose this website because I was intrigued by the idea of live cameras. I was curious if it would feel like we are at the zoo. This would be a fun resource to get students familiar with before taking a class field trip to the zoo here in Phoenix. I also navigated to other parts of the website, where specific details are given about each animal and it was very interesting and fun to read through.
