We at TBT strive on parental guidance and collaboration on all school related activities! We love our parent volunteers and are fully committed to families who are involved. There are several reasons to get involved with your child's studies! For one, students will be LESS emotionally distressed while at school. This will keep students from experiencing mental illness and will allow them to stay focused on their work! Their emotional health is crucial during this stage of their life! Students are less likely to face substance abuse when parents are involved as well! During this time, students will be exposed to new things that may or may not benefit them in the long run. It is best for parents to stay committed and invest in their child's safety. An additional reason for parents to get involved is the amount of confidence that increases in a student. Their self-esteem will be at an all time high, knowing their family supports their needs! There are many ways that any family of any background can accomplish!

  1. Sit with your student when they are doing homework! Help them and take the time to support them when they have questions or concerns. Being there for them is extremely important to their success, and taking the time to sit with them will make them feel more comfortable and reassured! 
  2. Talk to your student about school or how their day was! Demonstrating interest in their school will allow your child to understand its significance! 
  3. Read any school newsletters, pamphlets or documents with your student. Families of different cultural backgrounds will receive documents translated in their home language! Use these documents to discuss events at the school or more interesting aspects to your child!
  4. Call me or the school! You can always call to schedule a conference, or call the school to discuss academics in general about your child's progress. Keep us updated on how you feel and we will work out a plan of success for your student! We have translators for families who want to express their concerns or questions as well! 
  5. Consider joining our PTO/PTA or any of our other organizations to support our beautiful school and students! This will allow for diverse perspectives in the decision making process when all forms of families are able to get involved!
  6. Attend school events! Go to your student's plays, concerts, games, field trips and more! The more interest you show in your student's passions, the more respect, love and success you will see as an outcome!
