This assignment is focused on improving your welding skills. DO NOT attempt to do each joint in one attempt. My goal is for your to weld a 1" section, then come show me. I can give you tips on how to make your weld better.

 Pipe welding...the ultimate test...

Prep Work
1) Cut a piece of pipe 2" in length
2) Cut a piece of plate at 3x3
3) Clean your pieces - This is an essential step to ensure proper welds
4) Tack weld your pieces at opposite sides of the pipe

Welding Your Pieces:
1) Start by making a bead on the inside of the pipe - This will help you set your settings to the correct requirements
2) Make a few dry runs - This is important in order to help you get comfortable with the length of the run and help orientate your body position to be most comfortable during the weld
