There is obviously a sickness in this society that needs to be dealt with. GBV is a phenomenon deeply rooted in gender inequality and ,continues  to be one of the most notable human rights violations within all societies. 
South Africa is a society where violence has become normalized, where women and children have been dehumanized and that must stop! We live in fear of being raped, of being killed by people whom we trust. We are afraid of being the next victims. Let's end the culture of silence around GBV. Mainly because most people who are suffering from gender based violence will never be able to speak out. The world might plunge into eternal darkness. Sometimes the so called victims turn into the culprits and frame men. This would cause deaths of many innocent ppl. There are already cases of men being released from jail after 20 years because they were wrongfully accused of raping ppl. Now if there are cases like these ,why wouldn't there be deaths caused by this. Get my point. But men are not the only culprits of GBV ,I'm a woman and I do stand with men in other cases coz women do take advantage of societal norms. Men also get abused but are always afraid to speak up for themselves.
