         <title>How Objects Are In Orbit, and Why We Say Freefall</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><br>Objects are in orbit due to Newton's first law, the law of Inertia. An object in motion will stay in motion unless acted upon by an outside force that pushes or pulls it. Let's say that the orbiting object is a satellite. Gravity pulls the object toward Earth and the satellite now experiences Newton's first law. It has the tendency to stay in motion, so it fights with gravity. The satellite and gravity are constantly pushing and pulling each other back and forth. We call this freefall. The satellite is in freefall because it is being acted on by the force of gravity, and only gravity. </div>]]></description>
