Both diseases and livestock were traded during the Columbian Exchange. These diseases will eventually lead to a horrible population decrease. Another thing that was brought to the Americas were slaves from Africa. Examples of plants that were brought to Europe, Asia, and Africa were cacao, vanilla, and corn. Another thing that was brought to them was silver. The Europeans used the Native Americans as slaves, as well as Africans. These slaves were working mainly in agriculture and silver mining. They were both major profit points for the Europeans and therefore it was important that they were produced/collected quickly and in big numbers. Therefore, many people were tortured every day and did activities that were named close to impossible by Europeans. People stopped relying on religion so much and began to live life for themselves and started to do things they enjoyed. Art became more humanistic and was less focused on religion. Not only that, but they began to pursue knowledge and therefore, they began to become curious about the other world. By having more curiosity, they began to think about exploring and eventually they did.
