Tonight, the Team of BPE discussed the following: What is Portfolio, why a Portfolio is being utilized, the uses of a portfolio, portfolio vs standardized testing, and the Portfolio's strengths and weaknesses. I have gained a comprehensive understanding of all those aspects I have mentioned above. However, what I want to share about portfolios is utilizing it in the classroom is undoubtedly one of the most beneficial strategies for educators to implement with their students. This approach is honestly a win-win for teachers and students, why? For the reason that it serves as concrete evidence for teachers to showcase students' progress and achievements to parents. Simultaneously, students can utilize their portfolios as a tool for self-assessment, enabling them to identify areas of strength and areas that needs improvement. In which, this reflective practice can empower the students to take ownership of their learning journey and strive for continuous growth.
