Murder of Malcolm X 1965

- a few years before Malcolm was shot he was convicted of a burglary in 1946, and the "X" is to symbolize his stolen African identity.

-after he was released 6 years later he started to be more helpful to the world, and started advocating for MLK and made his voice a little louder for the world to wake up. the African Americans loved him but the whites did not. they shot him dead in a medical center in Columbia in 1965.

- this was showing the "bystanders" of the world that this is getting out of control, the segregation laws were getting into people's heads, so this event lead more people to start to advocate a little more towards people like MLK and rosa parks.

bus boycott Dec 5, 1955

- before the boycott started, the "blacks" had to sit in the back of the bus, as to be the last ones off and as far away from any white people as possible. african americans were mad and disgusted that even though slavery was over, they still got treated horribly.

- so they had to try to make a change, they were done with being treated like this, all this women did was sit in a seat and a man tried to take it from her and she got arrested. so from that point on they walked to get food, to work, to family events, anything they had to take a bus ride for, they ended up walking. the person that lead this whole thing was Dr. MLK

- the reason why this is so important in history is because this one simple event lead to the busses to stop getting as much money as they did because no black person could afford the car at the time so they normally took the bus. this also lead to the African Americans having a new civil rights leader MLK.

- this school was an all white school, after the bus boycott there next idea was to let the kids have a better possible future, atleast the african americans did, a few parents wanted to send there kids to this all white school as african americans.

- they tried to figure out the best possible way to keep these kids safe all day at school all the way home and back in the morning. so pres. Eisenhower came up with the idea to have 4 people from the national guard to watch over them.

- this later started to make segregation start slipping out the law book because of how much of an impact this stuff has been having on the world.
