  • Last year we analysed Frankenstein, and the book was prominently based in western culture. Mary Shelley’s personal troubles and experiences also come through in the dark themes Frankenstein is known for.
  • The piece of literature 1984 is influenced by the European culture of the people of that time.
  • The Handmaid’s Tale has a big focus on religion (Christianity specifically) and it’s world features twisted versions of Western values.
