Reynolds is using short phrases as sentences to summarize what Tuesday practices are like. These short sentences are abrupt, which makes the reader change their pacing. It's not like he's telling a story, it's more like the reader is hearing what coach is telling them in practice.

Gibbs is telling the readers what this character marge looked like without blatantly saying that she was big. He also the word rhinoceros to describe someone instead of saying big.

Lupica describes the game as not a horshoe to summarize that baseball is not a game of almost. He also says to go captain someone else which would mean to go control someone else. This could show an argument between two people.

Cooper is almost making me satisfied with her word choice, She did a good job explaing to me what going on and what she wants the character to do. It's not only the word choice but the way she worded it too, it also had good pacing because it didn't erupt the story but made it play out better.

These sentences show that this takes place in Texas and it was a lake in the past, over a few 100 years ago but now it's just a dry deserted land! This paragraph uses a lot of description of where the location is, and what the surrounding looks like! This lake is probably very old, and the individual in this story is at "Camp Green Lake" located in Texas!

Lloyd(1) is describing where she grew up and practiced soccer. She is explaining that she grew up in a small town by giving detail about her neighborhood.

Markus Zusak used short facts of what happened later in the chapter to excite the reader- so that the reader questions why the six year old boy died in the third carriage.

Gibbs made the character feel like 30 seconds is 5 years. It tells the reader that it feel like forever to do 1 thing and that he was scared about this.
