I knew that Native Americans and Hispanics have cultures that are appropriated but I did not think about how it effects the LGBTQ community as well. For example, the term "YAS Queen" is used all of the time and can be connected to originating from the LGBTQ community. Taking this test about religion and receiving my results honestly shocked me. It showed me that although I recognize the Jewish faith and other faiths, I still have a strong preference to Christianity. It makes me wonder how I portray this preference in real life. Ultimately, I feel as though Thanksgiving should be taught in its fullness, and that it sheds light on history. I do understand that people feel as though this could take away from the togetherness of family and friends of this day, but I do not feel as though it would do this.
