Now the fighting is moving closer and closer to Halima and her family. I was shocked to hear about how the government has a TV channel that shows the fighting and edits it so it makes them look like the good guys. They even show the dead bodies of the men who die fighting. She mentioned that people in neighboring villages were fleeing to Chad when the fighting started to get closer to their region, however her mother and grandma said they should stay with their village. While in the village Halima works as a doctor as a clinic and treats injured soldiers from the rebel groups. Government police come and interrogate her and tell her she needs to give them a list of the men she treats but she says she wont. I find it admirable that Halima is willing to risk her life to treat as many people as she can, regardless of who they are. That is what being a healthcare worker is about, you treat everyone regardless of who they are, when she tries to tell this to the police they do not understand and just get angry with her.
