It takes its name from Sungai Nipah, a village in Malaysia where it was first identified. The Nipah virus (NiV) outbreak in Malaysia reported cases in September 1998 to May 1999. It is probable that initial transmission of NiV from bats to pigs occurred in early 1998 through contamination of pig swill by bat excretions, as a result of migration of these forest fruit bats to orchards and pig-farms, driven by fruiting failure of forest trees during the El Nino-related drought and anthropogenic fires in Indonesia in 1997-1998. The NiV infected approximately 300 people killed within only one year. The human outbreak of Nipah infection discontinue after widespread deployment of protective equipment to people contacting sick pigs, restriction on livestock movements, and killed over 900,000 pigs

ii- Where is the location?
- Sungai Nipah, Negeri Sembilan a village in Peninsular Malaysia

iii- What is the species related to the issue? Exact numbers are unknown, but some experts estimate that each year domestic and stray cats kill hundreds of millions of birds, and more than a billion small mammals, such as rabbits, squirrels, and chipmunks. The stray cats can also transmit diseases. In August, animal control officials in Eugene, Oregon, reportedly discovered more than three dozen feral cats infected with salmonella, which is contagious to people and pets (Mott, 2004).

i.
