He fell asleep on shore then woke up on an island that he explored. he started to see some hunters boot prints and followed them to this huge man opens the door points a gun at Riansford, he explains what happen and General Zaroff allow him into his home. General gave Rainsford a meal, General started talking about hunting animals was to easy so he started hunting something that thinks what he saying is he likes hunting humans. Rainsford thought the man was crazy General told Rainsford that he has three hours to get away and two days to live is he gets caught then he dies if he doesn't get caught in those two days General will let him live and go but Rainsford knew if he wins he wasn't gonna live. 
Rainsford is a normal hunter that hunts nothing but animals. General is a hunter as well he used to think hunting tigers and other animals was fun but now he thinks its to easy and boring so he like to hunt humans he thinks there better thinkers. 
The reason why I picked this story because I find it interesting of how these characters played out and the plot twist. I feel like Rainsford had to fight for his life because a crazy man thought it was fun hunting humans he had no choice to play along with the General how he actually lasted those two days went through all of that and still laid in a comfortable bed.
