What might cause someone to have a low sense of self? Is our sense of self fixed, or does it change? When/Why?

- A low sense of self can be caused by many factors such as bullying and other external issues but most prominently rests on self-confidence. A person's self-confidence can boost the way they are seen by other people, boosting their confidence in general. Our sense of self can easily change depending on our mood, especially when we are happy or sad. Therefore we can conclude that a sense of self is not fixed but changes depending on oneself and other external circumstances.
