My favorite olympic story was Ashton Eaton winning gold in the mens decathlon two years in a row this year, beating his previous olympic record. And after winning he shared an amazing moment with his wife celebrating his gold medal win. This all happened this year in the Rio olympics. And it's my favorite moment because it was his second gold in the decathlon which is an incredible feat

In the Los Angeles 1984 summer olympics Mary Lou Retton was the first American woman to ever win a gold medal in gymnastics. She won all around gold for the US team and earned silver medals for the Team and Vault. She also won bronze for the Uneven Bars and her Floor Exercise. That year with 5 medals she became the athlete with the all around most medals. This is my favorite Olympic moment because Mary Lou Retton helped set a figure for the future gymnasts, and she represented the strong American women we have.
