In relation to cultural analysis, the human activity being performed is a tribute to Jason Kelce, a renowned American football player with a big media presence in both the sports world and the American culture. Jason as a player represents the culture of Philadelphia since he plays only at that state. Making him an iconic figure for the Philadelphians.

In this video we can find two speakers, Travis Kelce (Philadelphia eagles retired player) and Jeffrey Lurie (Chairman and CEO of the Philadelphia eagles)

The first, being Travis Kelce, delivers a speech marked by frequent pauses, audible breaths, and sobbing, as a result of his emotional state. This disrupts typical phonological flow, at 2.19, we can hear the speaker saying “after my dream” with a quick and weak release, making it almost inaudible. His vowels are lengthened due to emotion, while consonants weaken. His cracked voice, on key words such as father, mother and dream keep on highlighting his emotions. In contrast, Jeffrey Laurie's speech is controlled, calm, and with pauses for rhetorical effect, for example in “This guy Jason represents everything that's great about the Philadelphia Eagles (pause) unbelievable leader, teammate…” . Jeffrey gives more emphasis to “Unbelievable, teammate, great”, these words are used to highlight Kelce’s role and how important he was to Philadelphia Eagles.

Kelce’s speech is interrupted by sobs and pauses, while Laurie maintains steady articulation, this may highlight their different roles, Kelce emotional as a player, and Laurie controlled as a CEO should be.

Focusing on syllables:

Monosyllabic:

“Thing” and “guy” are nouns

Disyllabic:

“Mother”, “Father”, and “Teammate” are nouns and follow the tendency of being stressed in the first syllable. Oo.

Polysyllabic:

“Philadelphia” is a noun and follows the stress OoOo, having it stress in the first and third syllable.

On the other hand, the word “Scholarship” (noun) follows the stress Oooo, as it ends in the suffix -ship which will always be unaccented.
