Print production has evolved over may different years coming all the way from typewriters and newspapers, to today where it is primarily seen online, on billboards or in magazines. The first printing press was made in 1440 by Johann Gutenberg, this was one of the biggest evolutions in print production as it allowed for faster production of print. This allowed people to educate themselves through reading. The next evolvement was in 1843 and it was the rotary press as it allowed for paper to be constantly being fed through it and was a lot faster than the printing press. Offset printing is the current way most things are printed and this was invented in 1875. The Inkjet printer was first made in 1951 allowing for people to print their own personal things whenever they wanted.

Radio has evolved a lot over the years as well, coming from the radio being used for communication over seas, to how it is now with the radio accessible on your phone at any time to listen to music and podcasts. In 1894 the first radio was made for communication over ships at seas, it could also be used between the army, the first ever commercial radio went live in 1920 allowing for people to consume the radio for entertainment purposes, while also people can make profit off the radio, In the 1980’s the radio became much clearer with audio because of the speakers growing in size, they also discovered being able to tune into any radio. In 2015 the radio gained many more features allowing for people to call through it, send messages and much more. Radio stations are also accessible on your phones now just as easily.

Animation has come a far away from just being produced on kids toys to being fully fledged TV shows and films for anyone to watch. It all started with the magic lantern which was made in 1603, it would use mirrors and light to produce moving images and was the first instance of this. This evolved in 1868 to the Kineograph which was like a flipbook, a small book of drawings that would depict different movements on each page allowing for the drawings to look as if they were moving as you flipped through it. The use of a praxinoscope was how the first ever animated film was made in 1892, Snow White was the first feature length film made with animation in 1937. In the 1940’s people began to experiment with computer graphics and animations on there, the first animation from computer graphics was that of Vertigo’s in 1954 which was the opening scene, by the 1970’s a lot of people were incorporating computer graphics into their films. People would eventually discover CGI which is mainly incorporated in our films today as a way of people doing stunts without having to actually do them.

The evolution of cinema has lead us to blockbuster films today but they weren’t always like that. In 1894 the Kinetoscope was created which allowed people to see moving pictures for the first time, it boomed when it was released in 1894. Films originally were only a few minutes or even shorter and usually shown anywhere that would be able to put up a screen and be able to darken a room, the films were usually accompanied by music, audience participation and lectures, they usually weren’t silent as well but had de-synchronized audio. By 1914 the world of cinema had taken off and many film industries were established in major countries and regions. Colour wasn’t usually involved in the earlier variations of films but was introduced in 1906 with natural colour that was first shown to an audience in 1909. In 1927 they incorporated synchronized audio in their films by using separate disks for the audio of the film. In the 1930’s all films were presented with synchronized audio and then some of them were in full colour as well throughout the golden age of cinema. Today a lot of films use special effects and editing to make their films better throughout the process of making them.

TV is a big part of peoples lives from on demand streaming to live TV but it only used to be commercial use of TV, in 1924 the first TV was made, this TV was made of scraps but it managed to progress the creation of TV’s in general. In 1929 the first commercial TV was sold although the screen was about the size of a postage stamp and it wasn’t popular at all due to radio. The popularity of TV’s boomed in the 1940’s as the price dropped dramatically allowing for more people to start buying them. In 1950 the first TV remote was created allowing to change channels and other aspects without touching the TV. TVs became a staple in people’s households around the 1980s allowing for everyone to watch TV whenever they want to. TV nowadays is used for a variety of things, to show sport, the news, music, and any other way you could think of using the TV is how it would be used, it now has on demand streaming allowing you to watch whatever you want and when you want to instead of having to wait for it to be on live TV.

This has been assisted through new technologies as it is much easier to gain access to the publics attention and get them to listen to your information and connect closer with anyone that wants to agree or oppose your information you’re providing, this is all possible through various methods including social media, advertisement, radio and TV. In traditional days to get the information out to the public it would have to be through the radio or even through a public rally which wouldn’t have been found anywhere else back then, so it would’ve been much harder to reach the public.

Deregulation is the reduction of government regulations in media so things like content regulation, to make sure people can’t post certain things. Some of the advantages over this if it was to happen is that it would increase the competition and innovation of new and existing media as it means people wouldn't be able to stop others from taking inspiration from each others pieces of media with deregulation in place, it would also lead to a lot more merging and a lot more acquisitions, this means that other brands and media would be able to merge different apps together and even buy new and existing apps to merge together, this would lead to expanded access to different content but it would lead to less to no concerns over monoplies happening over the market.
