In the late Neolithic Period in 710 B.C., archaeologist Robert B. Fox described the jar as unmatched in the whole of Southeast Asia. Apart from that, he states that “it is a work of an artist and genius potter.” 

It is categorized as a secondary burial jar that is used for storing the bones of someone who has already been buried. The lid is very eye-catching as it features a “spirit boat” that is hauling two souls going to the afterlife. Its measurement is about 66.5 x 51.5 cm. The jar's body has been covered in a unique curvilinear design made of hematite, or natural iron.

Furthermore, in the front figure of the burial jar, it is noticeable how there are folded hands across, which is said to be a common practice whenever people in the prehistoric period arrange corpses, usually, they are the passenger. While the figure at the back serves as the guide during the journey of the corpse. The two figures are both wearing a band which is tied on the top of the head and below the jaw (a pattern that is also a burial practice by a few indigenous groups in the southern part of the Philippines).

The famous Intramuros in Metropolitan Manila, Philippines, is said to be an urban district and a historic walled city. Its name, Intramuros, is a Spanish word that means "within walls." It was discovered by the Spanish conquistador Miguel Lopez de Legazpi after 1571, when they fortified the city founded at the mouth of the river. The historic walled city has 146 acres (59 hectares), of which the dimensions of the wall are around 20 feet (6 meters) thick. Due to urban congestion in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, it was gradually enclosed and then replaced by various Spanish colonial buildings alongside government offices.

It was supposed to be the political and military base of the Spaniards in Asia. Apart from that, it was also planned to be an administrative establishment, with places for religion and education, as Intramuros is known to be the only place where influential clans can inhabit. Now it is a popular tourist destination, where visitors can have historical tours and cultural activities that can help them fully appreciate and understand the country’s history.

Seund Ja Rhae focuses on decorative abstraction, as seen in the painting, which utilizes different geometric shapes and colors. Korean symbols and scripts are also visible in the painting, which makes the work more appreciable as we get to see and learn more about the culture and history of Korea. Aside from that, it appears to be a simple color pattern, but if you look closely, you will be amazed at the amount of detail it contains. Rhae focuses on the subject of a mother and earth, the geometric shapes such as triangles, squares, and circles signify signs of borders and transcending time.

This painting was included in Yoo Youngkuk's first solo exhibition, held in 1964 when he decided to leave all of his art groups at the age of 48. This was also the time when he announced his new life and new visions, primarily about solitude and foregoing a career as an artist. Yoo Youngkuk is known for his masterpieces; as the saying goes, "What you see is what you get," so the titles of his paintings are pretty self-explanatory. "Work," his painting, represents his transition from using natural elements to creating abstract compositions. It can be seen in the colors, lines, and shapes. Aside from that, it represents his rebranding and a new perspective on things.
