In order for me to come up with the idea, I began to think of things that fit the theme of big and small. The idea of an elephant came to mind, as the elephant represents the idea of big. Thinking of elephants reminded me of the movie Dumbo, which takes place in a circus with an elephant named Dumbo, as the main character alongside his friend the, conductor mouse. These characters inspired me to draw this artwork to demonstrate the theme of big and small.

I used flowers for peace and a dirt ground with blood for war. The dirt ground is supposed to represent the lifeless earth that is left after a war. I used cross hatching, stippling, as well as random lines depending on the situation. Cross hatching for areas of neautrality, stippling for areas of peace, and random lines for war

The flames represent warmth and the ice shards represent coldness. They are opposites in terms of temperature. Additionally, the flames possess warm colors, while the ice shards possess cool colors, so they are contrasting in terms of color.

For my project, I chose to do fire and ice planets to show how the planets look so diverse from each other in color and temperature. I also only used dots to draw the picture because I just wanted to try something new and I thought it would look much different from just normally drawing it.

For this project, I chose to depict a several trees contrasted against factories emitting plumes of smoke. I made the piece in a way it can be flipped and it would still portray the same thing. In the end, I chose this orientation because the factories are more detailed. For this piece, I used markers, sharpies, watercolor, and color pencils. Mark-making techniques I used were crosshatching, clustered watercolor splotches, and dots from markers.
