I was diagnosed with dyslexia when I was young. I got tutored and I learned to think in different ways. I will always have dyslexia, it will always effect my learning in some ways. to the point wear i barely effected by education. .

Because I am white and straight, I often don't experience the same challenges as people in minorities do. This makes me privledaged and blind to some of the oppression in society.

My Gender and Age affects my intersectionality, as I am a 15 year old girl. It is common for people to have a lot of opinions about the way I dress or act. Often my family, friends, or other distant people, inflict their opinions on the way I dress or how I act. Some people think I don't dress modestly enough or that I don't dress formally enough for men they are never judged when they wear sweatpants and a sweatshirt. Some people comment that I act too loud or not loud enough, I can't be too fun too the point where I am embrassing, but I can't quit or I am boring. These same judgements are often never made about men or younger or older people, mostly teenageres are put under these expectations. These comments can be extremely upsetting as people may think that they are being kind or helpful, when in reality their opinions deepen my insecurities.

While I have been able too become sufficient in school without and IEP. I often need more support then my 504 can provide me. I've struggled, especially in highschool, to mangage my academics because I don't want to take steps back and go back on a IEP which will give me too many supports, at the same time My 504 is not giving me enough of the supports that I need. I find the 504/IEP support systems to be restricting. Those system are in place to support students but its unfair because its make the right support unaccesible.

My Ethnicity greatly impacts my life, I frequently visit my family in Chile and my grandmother comes to america every summer from Chile. She tells us stories of her life in Chile my family speaks spanish at home. Most people may see my race and not expect this part of my identity. This leads me to feeling overlooked as part of my identity is forgotten.
