         <description><![CDATA[<div>In order to obtain Oregon the american's created the slogan “58-40 or fight” which meant that unless they got the land that they wanted they would wage a war with Britain, that they knew they could not fight, luckily they bought their bluff and they re-negotiated… getting what is now Oregon, Idaho, and Washington.</div><div><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>They had to compromise with the British, they didn’t get everything they wanted.</div><div>The settlers were getting killed by the Indians, who were angry at the U.S. for taking their land. It was also hard for the travelers to travel, and there were many risk factors, even the smallest mistake could doom them. There was a lack of food, and many diseases they could contract on the journey.</div><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>No because in order to obtain the territory they had to kick indian's out immorally, even trying to poison them to get them out.</div><div><br></div><div>I think that what they did with France was ok, but I think it was not ok to kick indians off their land.</div><div><br><br></div>]]></description>
