Torres, Yailin
I'm really sorry for taking up so much space. I added a brief explanation of the most important events that occured in each scene in act ii, the 2 graphics and 3 methods.
  Act II, scene iii

1. Antony gives promise to Octavia and expresses to her that his duties will keep him from being with her and that he will avoid any sexual discretion from his very past. Octavius Caesar and Octavia leave him while Antony departs to be with his Egyptian queen. Later he finds himself with the soothsayer and he asks him about his future. The soothsayer tells him how Caesar will rise to higher standards than Antony will so he needs to keep his space between them. The soothsayer also articulates that Caesar will overshadow Antony’s ruling and power so Anthony disregards his fortune and goes seek pleasure in Cleopatra.

Act II, scene iv

2. In this scene in act 2,Lepidus orders Maecenas and Agrippa to gather their soldiers and meet at Mount Misenum, where they shall confront Pompey’s army.

Act II, scene v

3. Cleopatra amuses herself with her servants like chairman, and Mardian,a enuch as she thinks back about Antony and in this time her messenger comes back from Italy. The Messenger when he enters Cleopatra’s chamber he is well aware of her reaction to his say. Antony will bewed Octavia. Cleopatra in deep grief and anger treats the messenger viciously. The messenger repeats the unbarring truth and asks about her physical appearance. The way her hair looks, her age, and her actions.

Act II, scene vi

4. Before commencing a war, Pompey and the triumvirs hold a meeting. Pompey tells Caesar, Lepidus, and Antony that he is fighting to punish his father, whose overthrow by Julius Caesar led him into Egypt, where he was murdered. Antony notifies Pompey that in spite of the latter’s power at sea, the triumvirs’ militia will succeed. The 3 offer Pompey regulations over Sicily and Sardinia should he agree to rid the sea of pirates and to send payments of wheat to Rome as a tax.

Act II, scene vi

5. Pompey invites the Romans aboard his ship for dinner, and the triumvirs join him. Enobarbus and Menas stay behind discussing their military careers, the current political situation, and Antony’s marriage to Octavia. Enobarbus repeats that he is sure Antony will inevitably return to Egypt. After the talk, the two go to dinner.

2 Graphics in the link below:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MiyKXRC9Qfc

https://www.google.com/search?q=antony+and+cleopatra+act+ii&espv=2&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjGl-f7scrSAhWFeCYKHRd1CScQ_AUIBygC&biw=1366&bih=662#imgrc=scdO5AkSQ-K00M:

3 Methods

- Simile: "The fancy outwork nature: on each side her
Stood pretty dimpled boys, like smiling Cupids,
With divers-colour'd fans, whose wind did seem
To glow the delicate cheeks which they did cool,
And what they undid did."

-Personification: "Purple the sails, and so perfumed that
The winds were love-sick with them; the oars were silver,
Which to the tune of flutes kept stroke, and made
The water which they beat to follow faster,..."

-Irony: "It beggar'd all description: she did lie
In her pavilion--cloth-of-gold of tissue—
O'er-picturing that Venus where we see
The fancy outwork nature: on each side her
Stood pretty dimpled boys."

"But how the fear of us/ May cement their divisions and bund up/ The petty differences" (Act 2, Sc. 2). The cement will only strengthen their differences making it impossible to unite.
- "The heart of brothers govern in our loves/ And sway our great designs" (Act 2, Sc. 2). Octavia is used as a compromise between Antony and Octavius Caesar.
- Lepidus says to Antony, "not sickness should detain me" (Act 2, Sc.2). He later on got drunk and couldn't handle his liquor.
- "And for his ordinary pays his heart/ For what his eyes eat only" (Act 2, Sc.2)
The audience is aware that his affair with Cleopatra will continue to ruin Antony.
- Act 2, Sc.5 where Cleopatra "strikes" the messenger.
