·  The committee will oversee all elections for Officers, Directors, Constitution/Bylaws revisions and ratifications.

·  The committee will supervise the counting of all ballots and report the results to the President for distribution to the membership at large.

·  The committee will receive and resolve all election challenges in a timely fashion and report their ruling to the President.

This committee is an excellent way to increase your participation in union leadership!

·  The committee will meet quarterly with the Executive Director and President to review the budget (actual and proposed) to monitor the progress and review check register/credit card receipts/receipts.

·  The committee will review the annual audit.

·  The committee will make recommendations to the President/Executive Board for any necessary changes to the budget document.

FYRE continuously engages and empowers diverse teams of early career educators through training, collaboration, networking and opportunities to experience their union in action — giving a voice to new members with which to advocate for their students, their union and their profession.

Advocating for School Board policies to address invisible diseases and disabilities specifically in policies.

Review bills that passed the previous session and develop a method to inform members changes and the impact to our members, students and our public schools.

Develop a plan to build relationships with the local delegation and plan to meet with the delegation while they are back home.

Develop a plan to build relationships with the members of the Pinellas County School Board and plan to meet with each member at least twice a year to share concerns and ideas.

Develop a plan to make a clear presence at the school board meetings on a regular basis.

Develop a plan to engage the public in order to support our members, our students and our public schools.

Work in conjunction with the Membership committee topics for ten-minute meetings during the legislative session to empower, inform and engage our members.

Recommend to the President/Executive Board a plan to raise awareness and to implement actions toward restorative justice in Pinellas County.

Develop strategies to recommend to the President/Executive Board to raise awareness and/or take collective action around current human and civil rights issues.

·  A representative group from the committee will attend FEA’s Year Round Organizing (YRO) conference to help the committee set goals for the upcoming school year.

·  Develop a membership plan with President/Executive Board approval to focus on the worksite leader to create teams to retain, recruit and empower members at each worksite.

·  Work in conjunction with the Government Relations committee topics for ten-minute meetings during the legislative session to empower, inform and engage our members.

·  Implement a strategy for engaging the representative council at each meeting in a membership activity to use at their work site the following month.

It is time once again to honor Jade's legacy by granting an annual scholarship. It has been several years since this scholarship has been presented.
