Antisemitism isn’t just a thing of the past—it’s something I still feel today, even when it’s subtle. Sometimes it shows up as a stereotype masked as a joke, or in the way people get uncomfortable when I mention I’m Jewish. What’s hard is that a lot of people think antisemitism ended after the Holocaust or only exists in extreme forms, but it hasn’t gone away. As a teen, I think we need to talk about it more openly, not just in history class or when something awful happens, but in everyday conversations. Being Jewish is an important part of my identity, and I want to live in a world where I don’t feel like I have to downplay that to fit in. - Nat, NYC
