I think psychopathy and pure mental confusion is truly at fault for the tragedy. It wasn't because of bullying or the TCM. Eric and Dylan just wanted to kill for their own joy. They wanted to be remembered as mad men and set off a chain reaction, which they definitely accomplished. Eric hated the world and wanted it to be extinct. He had the perfect attributes to be considered a psychopath. Mental illness was the reason for columbine.

Many of their peers and teachers may not have recognized the full danger of them. Dylan was a hot headed, depressive, suicidal person who could have been saved from Eric’s influence had possibly a parent noticed. I don’t believe you can truly point a finger at anyone for Eric’s actions. He wanted to watch the world burn, and was simply a psychopath through-and-through.

Dylan wasn't a bad kid, however he was very emotional and influenceable, so with Eric guiding him, he went down the wrong path and helped him with the shooting. Eric was simply insane, he just wanted to cause chaos.
