It has strange staircases, oddly shaped doors, and hallways that look more like labyrinths than passageways in a house. The builder, a wealthy widow named Sarah Winchester, seems to have gone insane after her husband's death.
Her husband was the inventor of the Winchester rifles and her inheritance came from him. Some say she confused the ghosts of those killed by Winchester rifles.
Even today, there are those who believe that the Winchester Mystery House is haunted.
