This moment represents how Eun-Sook normalises the abuse that has been inflicted on her. Eun-Sook aims to convince herself that she is fine after she's been slapped by telling herself "I'm Okay, it's just that they hit me". She downplays the severity of the event and action by persuading herself that it is "only slaps." She normalises the abuse as if it is a daily thing. She forces herself to become desensitised to the violence and abuse. She becomes complacent to the abuse and Han creates an apathetic tone. This moment represents Eun-Sook's longing for the resistance to be recognized. That contrasts with her view on what will actually pan out. Here she internally voices her bleak outlook on the future of humanity (especially in relation to the uprising). Her rhetorical questioning on how his face is not "marked by such callousness, brutality and murderousness" forces her to question how a murderer such as himself has not been brought to justice. An enraged tone is created along with a powerless tone as she is powerless against Chun Doo-Hwan.
