Map it: Look through the slideshow "Map It!" to read clues and find landmarks around the world. Then think about which landmark you would like to visit. Write a paragraph explaining which landmark you'd like to visit and why.
Construct: Watch a behind-the-scenes video showing how  Gulliver's Gate is made. Create an Auckland landmark using recycled items from your home.
Write: A set of instructions of how to make your landmark include equipment, directions, bossy verbs, tips and photos or  draw pictures to support your writing.

As you read the article 'Toys or Treasures?' and its paired text  'My Priceless Treasure', think about what makes an object valuable.
Draw: Your favourite toy or an item or object that you treasure.
Vocabulary: Write a list of all the describing words you can think of to describe your item. Think size, shape, feel, colour, etc
Synthesize: Think about how your thinking grew and changed as you read both pieces of writing. What did the author want you to know and understand as you pieced it all together. Write a paragraph explaining your thoughts.
Write: About the object, how you got it, and what makes it worth a lot to you. Include description, emotion and reasons
Extra Extension Opportunities:
Make a list of your five favorite toys and what you guess they might sell for 50 years from now. Based on the articles, think about what could make them worth a lot of money—or not.
Design an advert for a magazine selling one of these items.

Watch: The video Sticky Spit about animals that use mucus to hunt, move around, stay healthy, and escape from predators.
Draw: An animal from the video that you find interesting.

 again. Make a list of all the animals described.

Record: How each animal uses mucus. Write: Down three properties, or characteristics, of mucus that make it a useful substance for these animals. What would happen if these animals didn't have mucus? Explain why they need mucus!

Invent: a product that makes use of slime?
Draw: a picture of your new invention. Use labels to describe each part of your invention and how slime helps it work.

Write: A descriptive paragraph about your favourite lolly and about your least favourite lolly.
Interview: The people in your bubble. What can do they like? What lollies don't they like?
Think: What type of candy do you think would be the easiest, strongest, or most impressive to use in building a sculpture? Write a paragraph explaining your choice.
