I’m a Brooklyn-based artist and art educator with formal training in drawing, printmaking, and fashion design but my favorite education was learning to sew alongside my mother as a child and I enjoy watching YouTube tutorials.

I worked for more than twenty years building costumes and making design samples in both the entertainment and fashion industries. Now, I work on my own projects and teach arts & crafts to others as I explore connection through creativity. I also practice Mindfulness for my own wellbeing and for others through leading guided meditation and art-making workshops. I enjoy working from my intuition, my imagination, and in collaboration.

The values I cultivate in my classroom are curiosity, community, & collaboration. I want students to feel valued and capable of engaging with the magic of creativity no matter their abilities.

Repetition, patience, and self reflection are important teaching practices for me. In difficult classroom situations, I ask myself what I’m feeling resistance to and why, so I can check my ego and center the student.

I often create hands-on, project-based lessons highlighting historic and contemporary artists that my students can be inspired by and see themselves in. When possible, that includes engaging with local artists.

I want to create experiences for my students that are nurturing, validating, and encouraging, so they can express the artists within them.
