I worked for more than twenty years building costumes and making design samples in both the entertainment and fashion industries. Now, I work on my own projects and teach arts & crafts to others as I explore connection through creativity. I also practice Mindfulness for my own wellbeing and for others through leading guided meditation and art-making workshops. I enjoy working from my intuition, my imagination, and in collaboration.

Repetition, patience, and self reflection are important teaching practices for me. In difficult classroom situations, I ask myself what I’m feeling resistance to and why, so I can check my ego and center the student.

I often create hands-on, project-based lessons highlighting historic and contemporary artists that my students can be inspired by and see themselves in. When possible, that includes engaging with local artists. 

I want to create experiences for my students that are nurturing, validating, and encouraging, so they can express the artists within them.
