When facing problems，good students would try to find the reason but students at risk would just conclude the problem into language problem. Analysis feedback and criteria make students successful.

Try to use other languages and talk to other language speakers could improve your language skills. Do not always use your mother language in group discussing although it may be nature and easy to make sense of others' ideas. Taking notes plays an important in knowing the lectures or reading something you are unfamiliar with.

Some students don't understand all of the meaning of the essay title. They only focus on one or two words in the title. Suggestion: Communicate with classmates or group members even your tutor because they will have different opinions about the title, which will help you to understand correctly about your title.

When we do lectures, we should read a lot and find some theories applied in practice. We also need critical thinking and find sources. Making a draft and change it is important.

In China, through the agency of his novel 1984, George Orwell is known by people who are interested in politics. Orwell is a product of his environment. Considering his unusual childhood, his views are obviously influenced by his historical context (wars).

He is also a prolific journalist and a writer whose countless reports as well as books are published in many years. His journalist style makes his political views opaque.

As for his life experience, he is a man who has been in many countries and has tried various jobs. Thus, his works are a reflection of social problems in the world.

In politics, a term Orwellian is created because of him. In literature, he invents 6 rules for English writers as writing instructions.

What's more interesting is his defence of traditional English food, which offers a window into some worth-trying food in England. I'm glad to see Yorkshire pudding is at the GOD TIER.

After a waste of 13 minutes, a record collection show about jazz begins: Originally relating to courtship and religion in Africa, Jazz is slave music like the blues, and therefore is a symbol of African culture. It is also influenced by military music in the last century.

At first, the Rag Time was quite different from the present jazz music. In the Jazz Age, many songs came into being as a result of the development of Western society. Duke Ellington, a pioneer of jazz, established jazz as a serious music and also what we called world music now. Louis Armstrong, a soloist, made a single instrument come to the fore in jazz. Later, smoky jazz marked more standard and professional jazz represented by a black woman Billie Holiday. During the war years, the rise of white bands indicated that jazz was becoming more and more acceptable. The white trend was later changed by BE BOP, which is massively influential in jazz. At this time, jazz really became art, due to the effort of Charlie Parker. Another musician Felonious Monk created cool cubist jazz. The year of 1959 marked the start of modal jazz. Afterwards, religious and commercial jazz, and the introduction of guitar(jazz rock) and funk jazz together modernized jazz.

What impresses me most is the slave stories behind this kind of music, and it's exciting to witness its transformation.
