This painting is delightfully simple. The subject here is only a simple head of a girl looking over her shoulder at the viewer. In the background there's a dark atmosphere. The girl is wearing a brown sweater, which contrasts with her white shirt. A further contrast is represented by her blue and yellow turban.
The most noticeable feature of this picture is the girl's pearl earring. It seems that this object in Vermeer's painting represents chastity, while the girl's turban represents an oriental element in the painting.
This picture expresses to me a sense of serenity but the background expresses to me also a bit of fear and disquiet.

This painting was made by Pablo Picasso in 1937 for represent the Spain at an exhibition in Paris. So we can see the bombing of 26 April 1937 of Guernica. First of all I think is a picture very strange for the form of people and animals. the emotions are negative but also positive like angry or shocked but also rebirth. In this painting is represent in the left a bulls which owns the violence and the brutality;the horse, in the centre, which is simble of spanish people; in the left there's a dove which is simble of peace or the mum who is crying for her baby in her arms who is dead. In the right there're people that is dying or running out of the city. The colours are white, black and gray and is use the prospective.
Mattia Cavalera

Rochefort's Escape is a painting by Édouard Manet painted in around 1881, before his death. It represents Henri Rochefort escaping from a penal colony.

I chose this painting because at first sight it caught my attention, and it gaves me different feelings. I feel nervous and frightened because of its atmosphere.

It’s very simple, as you can see from the painting, there is a group of three people are escaping on a boat into the stormy sea.

In the end, in the background we can see a tower and the dark sky.

The main colours of this painting are cool, like dark and light blue, a little bit of white and black.

Adamo Sofia

This portrait was painted in 1905 by Henri Matisse, a fauvist artist who illustrate his wife in the painting. In the foreground you can see the woman's face made with warm and bright colours, simple lines and flat shapes, through which we can get a better sense of depth; while the background is green, orange and pink. The woman shows a serious and determined expression, underlined by the hair collected on the head with a sober hairstyle. Overall, it appears almost abstract for the simplicity of its forms and its strange coloring. This painting makes me feel serene and above all, I admire the way simple shapes can express a feeling of calm and optimism.

Giulia Marangio

In this painting we can see in the foreground Camille Monet the wife of Monet an Jean their kid.
The beauty of the painting lies above all in the fact that Monet manages to create a spontaneity greatness in the scene thanks to a wise use of very simple colors; you can perceive the presence of the wind thanks to the movement of Camille’s dress, which is all moved by the arrival of the wind from his right, and likewise also the grass at the feet of the two protagonists is completely moved by the wind.
The colours are soft, vivid and weak.
This painting makes me Feel happy, calm, serene, relaxed and optimistic because it creates a close contact between the woman and the child that therefore accentuates the sense of motherhood and protection that manages to transmit to those who watch the work but it's also a little bit creepy because as you can see from the painting the face of the woman is upset and scared like there’s someone in front of her trying to hurt her and the baby. The child’s face is devoid of emotions like he was scared enough to get paralyzed.
Ludovica Filograna

Café Terrace in the Evening, Place du Forum, Arles is a painting by the Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh, created in 1888. It depicts the contrast between the bustling nightlife of a bar on a square in Arles and the tranquility and desolation of the rest of the city . It can be seen that the terrace is illuminated by the lights of the stars, there are tables that are placed directly on the ground of the square on round stones. Cold shades have been used in the upper part where the intense blue sky is dotted with clear stars while in the lower part ocher yellow is used which lights up the road Observing it makes me feel calm and serene.

In this painting you can see in the foreground a sick girl who feels uncomfortable being seen undressed by the doctor, the gloomy and dark background describes the sadness that the author (Edvard Munch) brother of the girl feels.

"Blue of the sky" is a painting made by Kandinskij in 1940, now preserved at the Centre National d'Art Pompidou museum in Paris, France. In this painting you'll see as the protagonist of the composition the blue background that as Kandinskij said "call man to infinity", creating a universe in which many micro-organism fly freely in the air. The colours you can see are very natural and bright, this painting makes me feel serene and free.

Dance -Henri Matisse (matteo marzo)

In this painting there are represented five naked human figures dancing in a circle, while holding hands with one another. This painting seems very simple, mainly because of the colours. They are plain, and the background is made up by only two of them: blue on top and green at the bottom. Furthermore, the human figures are simply a shade of orange, which makes them stand out a lot from the dark tones of the background. This painting represents joy, even though the colours are quite gloomy. It looks like the people are having fun together not caring about the blue background, which in my opinion symbolises sadness. I like it for this reason, because of its positive meaning to just dance and have fun while not worrying about your problems.

The painting "Picnic" by Fernando Botero represents 2 people who are having a picnic. The figures are represented with the exaggerated and voluminous features of "Boterismo".
The meaning behind this painting is often interpreted as a critique of consumer society and human greed. The people in the painting represent the middle class who enjoy the pleasures of life, but what surrounds them is an uncontaminated environment that seems to be ignored or even destroyed by humans.
The painting can be interpreted as a critique of Western culture that promotes the lifestyle of consumerism and the pursuit of pleasure. The figures in the painting are depicted as obese and indulgent, suggesting that their pursuit of pleasure and happiness has led them to become selfish and devoid of self-control.
Overall, "Picnic" by Botero is a painting that invites reflection on modern society and need to find a balance between our individual needs and respect for nature and other human beings.

this painting made by Piet Mondrian gives me mixed feelings. In my opinion, the tree rapresents the complexity of life, all its brenches are tangled and the main colors are red and blue. It gives me a sense of anxiety, but I'm also fascinated by the fact that you can give it the meaning that you want. For example, it makes me think about all the hidden meanings that can be behind just one thing, and that's how the human mind works. I really like this painting because I think it perfectly rapresents how a human brain works.
Elisa Bizzarro

The Mona Lisa is a half-length portrait of a young woman with long dark hair. She is framed in three-quarter view, the bust is turned to her right, the face towards the observer. His hands are crossed in the foreground and his arms are leaning on what appears to be the arm of a chair. From a comparison it can be seen that the smile of the Mona Lisa is asymmetrical. According to some scholars it would have been a paralysis of the painted subject, for others the consequence of a missing tooth.
This portrait is one of the most that i really Like, is made so well!
