         <description><![CDATA[<div>Event photography is important - especially for events such as this one. Because it's a charity event it is important how we present out stuff and it's also important that we build up and archive of footage for future events and for the use of the media such as newspapers and television broad casts. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I'd like to work closely with the graphic design and social media coordinators - because having the same vision and same idea is vital - so that everything ties in together. Social media and graphic design also play vital role in the publicity side of the event - and as I capture they images I have to get it to them as soon as possible in order for them to release information as well as footage for advertising as soon as possible.  </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I will have a team of about 5 other photographers on the day working with me - and there will be an editing station where we will be able to download and transfer images and do some basic editing before we hand it over to the graphic designer and social media coordinators. I think 'live coverage' of the event would be a good way of advertising and attracting crowds. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I've decided to capture black and white, slightly faded photos because I think it works well with the event that we are going to be hosting. It's a serious event and somewhat sensitive - so the way things are captured and shown to the audience is VITAL.          <title>Master of Ceremonies (MC)</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>It is vital to the success of the event that there is a level of direction on the night from the MC. My role is to make the evening enjoyable for all movie goers. They can watch movies of any genre in the comfort of their own home, without making the time or effort to come to Curtin. The fact that they have indeed come to the university means that I need to replicate that level of respect by giving them an enjoyable experience. As such, I need to be upbeat, clear, and concise in my delivery of details. I need to capture the attention of the audience, not only to inform them about the films or fun things to do on the night, but to be able to give clear information regarding emergency exits, toilets, and other essential housekeeping notices. <br><br>In between films, I will be giving updates on the proceedings. These include informing the audience which film is coming up next, reminding them of key information (e.g. toilets), and providing novelties including music, jokes, food and drink location notices, interviews with attendees, and updates on how much money has been collected in donations for the victims of cyclone Debbie.<br><br>This brings me to an important point. It is my duty to encourage movie goers to donate to the victims of cyclone Debbie. I can do this through relaying facts about the natural disaster, and using emotive language to promote a response from movie goers, response being making donations.<br><br>As far as the setup is concerned, I'll be speaking from a wireless microphone, allowing for more sitting space, rather than setting up a stand to speak from. It also helps to give the night a relaxed feel.<br><br><strong><em>Body Language</em></strong><br>- Standing up straight, allowing for easy, deep breathing.<br>- Controlled hand and body movements. I.e. Not rigid and robotic, but not wild and wavy either.<br>- Clear voice, use varying tones and inflections to assist the audience understanding.<br>-  Speak at a consistent speed, not too fast or too slow.</div>]]></description>

         <title>The setting of the physical location:</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>As a group we felt that Curtin was the optimal location for the film festival. I think this was the best decision as a university campus is full of open spaces and various indoor and outdoor areas that encourage a sense of community and are atmospheric. My site plan is to feature an outdoor screen/stage set up on the main green at Curtin, this in addition to a relaxed seating arrangement consisting of a mixture of bean bags, chairs and picnic blankets. The idea behind this is to push the audience to feel comfortable in this twilight setting (as the festival will commence at around 4:00 and end at possibly 9:30 maybe 10:00 depending on how full the run sheet is for the event) with the inclusion of various fun activities, catering venues (small business promotion Eg: the food vans often present at Curtin and also maybe some stalls where the funds will be donated along side the funds raised through a small entry fee and the donations of the attendees) and the jovial narration of the nights events by our MC Paul, thus lulling the audience into a sense of comfort and then with the aid of our cinematographers and their moving films on topic of: Natural disaster make the audience feel a sense of discomfort and then sympathy, which inter will hopefully motivate them to donate to our cause. <br>(Image: <a href="https://www.timeout.com/sydney/film/the-best-outdoor-cinemas-in-sydney">https://www.timeout.com/sydney/film/the-best-outdoor-cinemas-in-sydney</a>)</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><br>The main screen will be placed at the bottom sector of the main green on campus, leaving the majority of the rest of the green as the seating area, this works well as the seating will progress down hill which will minimise any issues the viewers may have with being unable to see the screen due to obstruction. Various food vans and activity spots will be located upon the paved areas surrounding the green, keeping the audience together in this central position and close to the screen, this is to encourage a sense unity among the patrons as crowds band together in the face of things such as a natural disaster, have the will to help their fellow man and often when people see other people donating money to a cause they are motivated by either sympathy or guilt to do the same. The ground floor (level 3) of building 201 will become the organisational base of operations&nbsp; for the event managers and fund collectors as well as the social media&nbsp; and promotions crew. The Stage and seating area will have minimal but warm and creative decorations mainly consisting of lots of lights to create an ambient atmosphere as evening becomes night and perhaps tendrils of light and silky material can be strung from the tall trees in addition to the lights in order to create a softly glowing canopy that will sway in the breeze.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;<br><br>(Image: <a href="http://fantasybride.com.ua/oformlenie.html">http://fantasybride.com.ua/oformlenie.html</a>)<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>id work closely with many others in the group in using graphics and photos to create a range of platforms that help contribute to the social media side of things. Working to create a positive website that endorses the event and promotes it. As well as using social media such as Facebook and snapchat to promote the event on the go and to a younger ranged audience.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Since the event is being held at curtin university itself, its only fair that curtin does some self promoting. I would be in charge of the departments that need focusing on and contacting them to help us get the event out there. I would use cutting news and events on the website to post an article about the event as well as having guild promote in emails, posters and articles. Lastly I would ask Curtin radio to do a couple of broadcasts to get listeners to know about the event and do public announcements. </div>]]></description>

I would use community news to contact the local community about the issue, western independence to contact the journalist side and curtin followers, and canning times community local newspaper as the bentleys local newspaper to cover the issue in regards to the local area.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Design Role</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Working in turn with the social media, photography and promotion areas of the group, I will work to create several graphic posters, flyers and advertisements to assist with the promotion of our event. It is vital that advertisements are put up around the Curtin campus to attract a wide audience of as many people as possible. To do the best job possible it is necessary to keep the design aspects relevant to the theme of our event, and to keep it as inclusive and involving as possible.&nbsp;<br><br>If possible I would like to create flyers and then, working with a volunteer team, hand them out around the campus in an attempt to promote the event even further. As it is an independently-run event, it is necessary to spread news about our event as much as possible. I will hopefully work together with other members to create meaningful and memorable advertisements towards our event.<br><br>As well as these, again working in congruence I would like to assist in designing a website to host our event on. As people may not grasp all information about the event when they walk past a poster, it is necessary to create a platform where people can view all information about the event - time, place, etc. As our event is quite serious it is important to keep the design professional, though it may not be necessary to fit with the theme of the event as it is can be quite detrimental. Working for a charity fund towards the loss of those from Cyclone Debbie, it is important that we do not utilise such a traumatic &nbsp;event to further our agenda as it could be considered disrespectful. For these reasons I do not believe that the design elements of our advertisements should reflect the event.</div>]]></description>
