this is a picture of emma edmonds, while she was serving in the civil war as frank tompson. this connects to my book Behind Rebel Lines becuase this is the girl my book is focused on. its a story about a young girl that pretends to be a man so she can serve in the war. The Drum Barracks became the military headqurters in the 1860s, between 2,000 and 7,000 soiders were stationed at this camp in California. The Drum Barracks has also been listed on the Natonial Register of Historical Places list since 1971.
