The story of Faizah and Asiyah will help readers understand the beauty and pride in wearing a hijab and about the strength in overcoming negative comments about it. The entire time I was taking the tour of Jack's imagined school through reading, my mind was imagining all the ways this book can be used within an educational setting. The story featuring Carl, the earthworm, is wonderful! There's a moral to offer children within and a lesson on cause and effect and that everyone has an impact on the world around them. This is a great picture book/graphic novel hybrid. It definitely lends itself to teaching young children about emotions, cause and effects and ways to work together to overcome negative emotions.
