After reading and watching videos from both artists , They remind me that photography comes with patience and spontaneity, simplicity and some complexity. I think I would want to start combining Eggleston’s appreciation for finding the beauty in everyday things and the importance you can find within it. Along with Webb’s eye when it comes to storytelling and capturing an image.

Alex Webb and William Eggleston have been some of my favorite photographers as I've studied photography history through the years. I've always been drawn to color harmonies and color photography, and I'm just really trying to understand how to bring the techniques of these masters into my own work.

After seen the work of Alex Webb and William Eggleston, I personally want to use their ideas of color, creating story's within the full story of the image. Seeing the colors bounce off each other really inspired me . I enjoy color and using color but I forget the there can be more than one color in the spotlight.

After seeing the work of Alex Webb and William Eggleston this week, there are distinct ways I can approach my work by understanding their thought process and the techniques they each used. Webb uses a lot of layered compositions, complex use of light and shadow, and vibrant colors. I haven't done layered compositions before and I will start learning how to perform that. On the other hand, Eggleston likes to capture beauty in everyday scenes with color and in an aesthetic way. I will try to look closely to my surroundings and have a creative mind to create a story with my images.

I feel that both Eggleston & Webb were able to capture dynamic color well. I really liked the images from the Webb lecture, but I wonder how he was able to get so many people to agree to be in his photographs (I wonder if he actually asked, or if he just took their picture).

I feel like I not only need to pay more attention to deep colors in the image but also creating and be purposeful with the contrasts. The everyday image these two artists have taken make it seem like life is so colorful when in reality I'm fighting to find things worthy of even mimicking them. I am going to have to go out of my comfort zone and really look for more opportunity to create more vivid imaging. I love how detailed and layered Webb's images are. I'd love to be able to be that talented some day. I like images that give your eye a lot to examine and everytime you see an image you notice something new.

It's really profound how these photographers could shoot everyday life and the photos come out amazing. I'll be honest, sometimes I'll see the "simple" pictures and I just won't get it -- until I think about it more deeply and acknowledge the thought process of it, as well as the technicalities. I want to try to do the same, but be more intentional. They didn't just point and shoot, they were tactical and intentional about it. I might try to do a series just for myself of the "everyday life".

Alex Webb and William Eggleston both focused on color when it came to their styles of photography, but in different ways. while William would focus on having his photos resonate around one color, even if other colors are in the photo, Alex would use different colors to resonate around one tone or mood. When it comes to our assignment for this week, I plan on focusing on Alex Webb's style and use different lighting techniques to resonate one tone with different colors.

Hi class,

I was very intrigued by Alex Webb's use of high contrast and the use of shadows as leading lines. This is something I want to explore more with, especially by implementing a dynamic color contrast. I also enojyed the color harmonies Eggleston utilized in his photographs, I think there is this essence that is effortless captured that could be very difficult to try and replicate. This idea of "I'm just shooting life today" and how we are able to view they way he sees the world.

I think that the way that I see colors in photos is very similar to how the photographers covered this week see colors. I tend to notice colors and their relationships when I am out shooting and after these videos, I feel like I am even more aware of them.

One thing I took from this lesson is how is how they are able to capture such deep colors and the contrast. I want to try getting out of my comfort zone with taking photos and try taking photos in these styles. I want to be able to expand my knowledge of color to be as i depth as these.
