This a statement in support of my application to become a library volunteer, a position which I saw advertised in a newspaper on 20^th May 2020.

Firstly, I have some work experience because I worked as a volunteer in a hair and beauty salon between 2017 and 2018. In the salon, I was responsible for making appointments over the phone and placing orders online for the salon. It was a good experience in the business environment as I had the opportunity to make friends with colleagues and also meet different people. As I really enjoyed the experience. I would like to develop my experience in working with customers in academic environment by join the library. 

Secondly,  I am a friendly, reliable and a supportive person, who likes to work with customers of all ages. Also, I am highly motivated and eager to learn new things on the job.

Thirdly, I have got excellent communication skills in written and spoken English at Level 2. Also, I have good computing skills such as data recording and researching. I am experienced in customer service, so I can easily interact with customers.

I believe that my abilities and qualities will make me a more valuable member of your library team and I hope to hear back from you soon.

Subject: Concerns and suggestion about an open day. 

 Dear Sir/ Madam.
I am writing to express my concerns about the activities  at the   leisure center and   to make suggestions  for future improvement.

 

On Wednesday 20^th March I attended an open day at the local leisure center. There were many activates which were very interesting, especially the swimming pool which was very big, clean and attractive.  My concerns is the Gym room as it was very small and only few exercise equipment were available. In addition, a few activities were missing for example, football, badminton and soft play room it would have been much better if it included.  (In this paragraph you are talking about facilities, not activities which were not included. You need to write about activities.)

In my opinion gym room would be better if it was bigger to reduce the suffocation and make space for more exercise equipment.  Secondly, more activates place for children like soft play area. Thirdly, If the leisure center added different kinds of activities it will be more beneficial for our local people.  You need to develop this paragraph by referring to concrete activities, not facilities. Alsom you have to specify which activities benefit which age groups. People in general is not enough. 

I hope that all the above suggestions improves the leisure center  to make it more enjoyable for people.

The new building will be located in Birmingham’s historical area.  The purpose of this building is to have a modern shopping center and luxury apartment in the city.

There are several advantages .................; One advantages is that people who live in the city centre are able to save their money and time by not travelling a long distance to go shopping.  Also, this building provide much needed accommodation for people who live in the city, while reduce the problem of accommodation in the city.  It will also provide job opportunities which decreases the number of people without jobs. (there is a word for people without jobs In addition to this, it will attract customers from outside the city, who will go shopping in the new shopping centre, which increases the businesses income of the city.

There are many disadvantages, such as an addition to air and noise pollution which is not good for environment friendly.  Also, it involves the demolition of beautiful historical landmarks in  city, which results in loss of character and charm. On the other hand less tourists would visit the city, which may affect the economy. DEVELOP THESE IDEAS

There is a plan to build a new shopping centre and expensive apartment building to replace the old historical buildings in Birmingham.There will have advantages and disadvantages.  The purpose of this article is to discuss the advantages and disadvantages and to provide my own view on the topic.
Advantages
There are many advantages of building a new shopping centre. For example, one advantage is that it can save money on travelling for people who live around the city centre .Another advantage is that it would provide much needed accommodation for people who work  in the city. Last but not the least, it will provide job opportunities because there will be many shops which will employ local people.
Disadvantages                                                   
There are many disadvantages of building a new shopping centre ,such as causing noise and air pollution, involving demolition of beautiful historical landmarks in the city, which results in loss of character and charm ,attracting less tourists who come to see historical buildings.  For example, we would lose our old library, which is a beautiful Victorian building that attracts many tourists. Also, we would lose St. Leonard's ( St. Michael, St. George) church, which is a landmark for our city. We would lose our Queen Victoria statue, which people take pictures with all the time.

My suggestion is that the company should stop demolition of the old historical buildings  because we do not want to lose the historical building in Birmingham, which was attracting tourists from everywhere to see it and we do not want that our city loses it’s character and charm . Although I think people really need  to have a build a  new shopping centre, they could chose another location in the city because the historical buildings are more important.
