Dubai, today one of the world's most iconic and fastest-growing destinations, has a surprising history. Originally a small fishing and commercial settlement dedicated to the trade of pearls, incense, and spices, it underwent significant change with the discovery of oil in 1966, which allowed for the financing of infrastructure projects and the diversification of its economy. In 1971, Dubai joined other emirates to form the United Arab Emirates.

Today, it is a symbol of modernity and luxury, excelling in commerce, tourism, finance, technology, and sustainability. Home to iconic landmarks such as the Burj Khalifa, the Palm Jumeirah, and the Dubai Mall, it is known for its technological innovation. Dubai also holds several world records, including the tallest building (Burj Khalifa) and the largest shopping mall (Dubai Mall).

With a focus on the future, Dubai seeks to lead the way in technology, sustainability, and autonomous mobility, with projects such as the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and a strong push into space exploration. The Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan aims to transform the city into a more livable and sustainable place.

Venezuela is currently facing a complex situation, marked by a severe political, economic, and social crisis. Inflation is sky-high, the minimum wage is insufficient to cover basic needs, and millions of Venezuelans have emigrated in search of better opportunities. The current government faces severe internal tensions and international pressure, while the country continues to face problems with public services, such as water and electricity. Venezuela was a country of great prosperity at various times in its history, especially during the oil boom of the 20th century. In the 1950s and 1960s, Venezuela enjoyed sustained economic growth, with a society undergoing transformation and significant progress in infrastructure, education, and healthcare. However, its dependence on oil revenues, coupled with political and social instability, began to cause problems in the 1980s and 1990s I would like to travel to Venezuela to see my family again, and I recommend going for the beautiful things my country has to offer.

Past: Rome, known as the "Eternal City," has a history spanning over 2,500 years. It was founded in 753 BC, and its early rise as a small settlement along the Tiber River transformed it into one of the greatest civilizations of antiquity. By the 1st century BC, Rome had become the capital of the Roman Republic, and soon after, the Roman Empire, ruling over vast territories that stretched from Britain to the Middle East.

Rome is famously home to architectural marvels like the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, and the Pantheon, each representing a glorious chapter in its history. The city witnessed the reign of emperors such as Julius Caesar and Augustus, the spread of Christianity, and the eventual fall of the Roman Empire in the 5th century AD. Afterward, Rome became the center of the Catholic Church, with the Vatican establishing itself as a religious and spiritual heart.

Present: Today, Rome is a vibrant metropolis and the capital of Italy. It seamlessly blends ancient history with modern culture. Visitors come from all over the world to witness its historical sites, such as the Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain, and St. Peter's Basilica. The city is also known for its world-class museums, vibrant street life, and outstanding cuisine.

Rome’s modern-day economy thrives on tourism, fashion, film, and art. As Italy’s political and cultural center, it is home to the Italian government and numerous international organizations. The city has faced challenges like congestion, pollution, and the preservation of its vast heritage, but it remains one of the most iconic and visited cities globally.

Future: Rome’s future is focused on preserving its rich heritage while embracing modern innovation. The city plans to improve its infrastructure, with projects aimed at reducing traffic and enhancing public transportation. Efforts to preserve its historical sites while accommodating tourism will continue to be a delicate balance.

Rome is also evolving as a hub for art and technology, hosting international conferences, exhibitions, and events. The future of Rome holds a growing emphasis on sustainability, with green initiatives such as eco-friendly transportation and sustainable urban development being prioritized.

Culturally, Rome will continue to attract visitors with its rich history, but it will also aim to foster new art forms, emerging industries, and a younger generation interested in innovation and the arts. In short, while Rome’s past remains the foundation of its identity, the future promises a dynamic blend of tradition and progress.

However, as urban growth expanded, especially during the second half of the 20th century, the region began to urbanize rapidly.

Past:
Cancún was originally a small fishing village before it began to develop as a tourist resort in the 1970s. The Mexican government decided to transform the area due to its potential as a world-class tourist destination. Construction of key infrastructure, such as the international airport and hotel complexes, accelerated at that time. By 1974, the Mexican government had created a plan to develop Cancún, and the tourism industry began to flourish. Over the years, the city grew rapidly and became a point of reference for domestic and international tourists, especially since the 1980s.

Present:
Today, Cancún is one of the main tourist cities in Mexico and the Caribbean. It is known for its white-sand beaches, crystal-clear waters, and advanced tourist infrastructure that includes luxury resorts, shopping malls, restaurants, and a vibrant nightlife. In addition to its appeal as a beach destination, Cancun is also known for its proximity to archaeological sites such as Chichén Itzá, Tulum, and Cobá, which attract tourists interested in the culture and history of the Mayan civilization.

Future:
Cancún's future appears to be focused on diversification and sustainability. Although tourism will continue to be the main economic driver, the city is investing in initiatives that promote sustainable tourism, ecotourism, and environmental conservation. There are plans to develop new tourist destinations within the region, such as the Riviera Maya, and to improve infrastructure to maintain a steady flow of visitors.

Furthermore, Cancún is seeking to strengthen its appeal for luxury and cultural tourism, in order to attract a more diverse audience with more specific interests. The city is also considering creating new tourist experiences related to local gastronomy, art, and culture, which would allow tourists to learn more about the region's history and traditions.

Fifteen years ago, I lived in Belleavista, San Martín. It was a very beautiful place with green areas, not much crime, and very polite people.
Bellavista was a small town, not very populated. One of the most striking places was Las Brisas, a very nice tourist spot with animals, pools, restaurants, and a nightclub. Another interesting fact is that Bellavista wasn't a place that knew much about technology and was more concerned about education.

Currently, Bellavista is beautiful, but the green areas have decreased, crime has improved, and the people aren't what they used to be.
Bellavista has grown now. They have built a very large hospital. The population has grown and it is a more well-known place. There are more tourist attractions and people have modernized. Young people are focused on technological advancements and no longer care about their education, while adults no longer have the same control since it has changed a lot.

In a month I plan to travel. I hope to see that things are improving and to be able to visit the new tourist attractions. I want to see the hospital and nature and see if young people are still more focused on technology than on their education. I also want to see my family and see how much they have changed. I know it will make me very nostalgic.

The Dominican Republic is a very beautiful country, for example, Jarabacoa is a very nice tourist site. Due to its climate, visitors have dubbed Jarabacoa "The City of Eternal Spring." Rainfall is abundant almost all year round. One of the main tourist attractions are the mountains and the natural environment of the area, due to its location in the center of the Cordillera Central. I have visited Santo Domingo before. Now I would like to visit Jarabacoa, and now I will visit Punta Cana.

Formerly Arequipa was going to be called the “Villa Hermosa de Nuestra Señora de la Asunta” in the name of the Marquis Francisco Pizarro and later be changed to “City of Arequipa” by the monarch Carlos V in Royal Decree Arequipa is the capital of the colonial era of the Arequipa region in Peru

Currently in Arequipa in its historic center is the Plaza de Armas which is surrounded by important buildings of mestizo architecture and has in its center the figure of “Tuturutu”, a messenger soldier from the 16th century. From there, it is also possible to glimpse the Misti, the guardian of the city.

In the future I hope to be able to visit the city because of the stories my grandmother tells me about coming from there and I find it interesting to see how it evolved and how it will continue to do so.
