My parents didn't want to tell me or my younger brother because they wanted to "protect us" from the truth. I found out anyway. It was a hard loss because I had been close to him, but it was made even more difficult because my parents had lied to us. Covering up the truth and lying in an attempt to help someone will only end up hurting them more. Cassie and Stacey may be young but at the same time they need to know about the Night Riders in order to stay safe. Mama and Big Ma should tell at least Stacey about the true dangers facing them. My Dad was making some for his sisters(he has 5) and my mom asked, "What about Geri*(my aunt)", then my dad said, "I don't think she and Arthie*(my other aunt) talk anymore." I asked what they were talking about, and they both said "Nothing". Sometimes kids don't need to know things, but I think Stacey and Cassie should know, just so if they happen to see the Night Riders, of dangerous group, they know how to act.

Ex. You don't tell your kid to not drink the orange juice, they go and drink the orange juice because you told them not. Drinking orange juice and not drinking orange juice aren't really drastic decisions but it's just an example.
