         <description><![CDATA[<div>Social Studies Curriculum that both addresses and move beyond the standards is equipping our students with a global view of the world.  For example, students learn about the basic government roles in the community AND begin to explore other cultures through the study of the continents.  These threads are woven throughout.  Units in 3rd, 4th, and 5th, address almost all of the 7 Illinois college and career pathways in some way.  K, 1, 2 introduce some of them in grade appropriate ways.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Key Competencies are so deeply connected to the Inquiry model we use across subjects in Elementary.  It would be good to have a more flushed out way of tracking how those skills are developing across the years.  It's easy to get lost in content at elementary, it would be good for teachers to hear the message that these competencies are important to middle and high school teachers.  This messaging has to be paired with how we look at data.</div>]]></description>
