  This quote shows that shes a supportive and caring person because she helps Ruth to take care of herself and the baby. She wants to make sure that she is getting the rest she needs and the health care that her and the baby need.

Mama takes a lot of risks for the family. She knows that when something goes wrong try again or do something different. Mama gets right back up when life knocked to the ground.

The younger family isn't wealthy and privileged as the white. They have to work their butts off with 2 or more jobs. Ruth is pregnant and has a son Travis, Walter is the husband and his sister lives there also with their Mama. They live in a small apartment and all have to work together to help Travis get a good education and go to college and for Beneatha to go to college to be come doctor.

Mama is supportive and caring but she also has courage. She took a big risk to give Walter Beneatha's school money. Then she decided to put a down payment on a house for all 6 of them. She knows that it wasn't exactly the best decision to move to an all white neighborhood.
