Sometimes I get bored, but this project made me realize that there are many new and interesting things in life, like the little wild flowers and mosses on the roadside. At first, the challenge I faced was that I didn't quite understand the teacher's homework requirements. So I read the assignment instructions over and over again, and also consulted a lot of information, and finally found inspiration. The next challenge was that I started to draw a few pictures, but I was not satisfied with any of them because I felt the picture were too simplistic. So I started to look for references, and finally drew the colorful maple leaf picture, but I was still not satisfied, thinking it was too simple and monotonous. So I decided to make it more complicated by adding texture & words. The inspiration for the texture was from the leaves cells which gave my designs a new more complex dimension.

I think the key to making a work better is to constantly modify and adjust - change the color, change the pattern, stare at a painting and modify it repeatedly, and it will definitely get better and better in the end. In addition, it is also important to ask teachers and classmates for some feedback.

I think the standard of success is to have a clear conscience. As long as you put a lot of thought and do your best, you will succeed. In this unit, the teacher recommended four printing methods to us. I have only tried screen printing so far, which feels very novel because I have never used this method before. Although I haven't tried the other three printing methods yet, my next plan is to try them and increase the number of my designs. Otherwise, I think the design of only one maple leaf will be too monotonous/ repetitive.

I am also a little confused. The teacher said that there is no difference between simple and complex design, and thought that I made the maple leaf design more complicated, which might be unnecessary. In fact, I myself am not quite sure what the highlight of my project is, but I will continue to think and explore, hoping to find a better way.
