Kate agreed to this arrangement  because she wanted what was best for Helen even if it meant that she couldn't take care of her herself and that she couldn't see her as often as usual. It's very hard for Kate to stay away from her daughter for 2 whole weeks but she did so Helen could learn from Annie. Kate was also wondering if Annie would be able to accomplish anything in 2 weeks, she said "Two weeks? Miss Annie, can you accomplish anything in two weeks?".
