This is my family. My parents are my source of strength and inspiration in everything I do. We may face many trials and challenges, but I am truly blessed to have them. I am beyond grateful to them for allowing me to experience a comfortable life, supporting me in everything I do, and loving me in the best way possible. I promise that one day, all their sacrifices for me will bear fruit. I’ll make sure to express my gratitude and repay everything they’ve done for me someday.

Meet my pretty and gorgeous mom! Many people say we look alike, haha. She’s the kindest, sweetest, and most generous person ever. She’s an OFW and works as a respiratory therapist in the UAE. It’s sad that we have to be far from each other, but I completely understand why she has to do this. That’s why I’m so grateful to her. Even though the distance hurts, it won’t be a barrier to our closeness. I deeply appreciate everything she does for us.

Meet my merman, aka my DJ (Daddy James or Jumbo) haha, he came up with that name, so I got used to calling him that. My friends even call him “TJ” which obviously stands for Tito James. My dad and I have the ultimate love-hate relationship. He’s strict but also cool. Over time, he’s become less strict, but I’m not sure how to describe it exactly, it’s like he’s learning to let go and trust me more. He loves the sea so much, and because of him, I’m not afraid of deep water. I remember he once threw me into the ocean when I was a child, lol, that’s probably why! He even goes along with my wild adventures, like riding a roller coaster (as you can see in the picture), even if it scares him (he's just hiding it). He may not be as expressive with hugs and kisses as my mom, but he makes up for it with acts of service.

Dancing is my ultimate stress reliever and coping mechanism. It all started when I was still in grade school, and since then, it has become a big part of my life. I feel truly happy and alive whenever I’m performing because it allows me to express myself in ways words cannot. While dancing can sometimes be physically exhausting, especially during intense warm-ups or long rehearsals, it’s always worth it in the end. The sense of accomplishment and the joy I feel after a performance make all the effort worthwhile. What I love most about dancing is how it connects me with others. It has allowed me to meet new people, form friendships, and be part of a community that shares the same passion. Dancing isn’t just a hobby for me, it’s a way of life that helps me grow, both as a person and as a performer.

A fun fact about me is that I absolutely love green! This year, I’ve found myself falling in love with the color to the point where I even dyed my hair green haha! Unfortunately, hair colors like green aren’t allowed in school, but that hasn’t stopped me from loving it. Every time I see something green, it feels like my eyes are filled with heart emojis. So, when I found out that my cluster color is green, I was over the moon. There’s just something so calming and refreshing about green, it’s like a little visual escape every time I see it.

Here are my friends! I love being with them just as much as I love spending time with my family. I enjoy going out and having fun with them, and I even love introducing my friends to my parents because they’re just as genuine to my friends as I am. With my friends, I feel like I can really express my goofy and funny side. Sometimes, it’s easier to show that part of me around them. I also love making people laugh, it’s one of the best feelings ever.

Meet Zaine! She’s the amazing person I recently met here at AdDU, and I can honestly say she’s one of the biggest blessings in my life. Lately, I went through a really tough time. I was betrayed by a friend I treated like a sister, someone my parents even welcomed and treated as their own daughter. It was heartbreaking, but God truly works in mysterious ways. He sent Zaine into my life just when I needed someone the most. Zaine is not just a friend, she’s like the sunshine I didn’t know I needed. She’s incredibly sweet, thoughtful, and genuine, and she has this amazing way of always lifting my spirits no matter what. She doesn’t just make me smile, she makes me laugh so hard I sometimes forget all the struggles I’ve been through. What I love most about her is how real and authentic she is. I can feel her sincerity in everything she does, and it’s so comforting to have someone like her by my side. Whenever we’re together, it’s like the world becomes a little brighter. We’re always laughing, cracking jokes, and just enjoying each other’s company. It’s rare to find someone you click with so effortlessly, but with Zaine, it feels like we’ve known each other forever. We’ve already shared so many stories about our lives, and we’ve even talked about our hopes and dreams for the future. I truly hope this friendship lasts a lifetime because having her in my life has reminded me of the goodness and beauty of genuine connections. She’s more than just a friend, she’s family to me now. I know it might sound a bit surprising or even make others wonder since we’ve only just met, but I feel such a strong connection with her. My Media Habit

Ever since TikTok was introduced (back when it was still Musical.ly), I’ve been one of the OG users of the app, lol. TikTok is such a fun platform because it lets you connect and bond with your family and friends in creative ways. It’s also a great outlet for showcasing your talents, whether it’s dancing, singing, or just being funny and relatable. However, like anything, TikTok has its downsides. It can get a bit toxic at times, especially when you find yourself spending too much time on it. There are moments when I get so caught up in scrolling videos that I lose track of what I’m supposed to be doing. It can be easy to waste time or get distracted, which is something I need to remind myself to manage better. On the bright side, TikTok has become a powerful tool for advocacy and spreading awareness. With so many people using it now, it’s an amazing platform for reaching a wider audience and sharing meaningful messages. Whether it’s promoting a cause, spreading positivity, or educating others, TikTok has so much potential beyond just entertainment. So, overall, TikTok is a mix of fun, creativity, and influence, but it’s all about finding the right balance to use it in a way that’s both enjoyable and purposeful.

My Media Habit (TV/Streaming)

I watch a lot of series and films, especially K-dramas, but one series that I got really hooked on and would love to share is Riverdale. It’s a show that has a bit of everything like friendship, family, love, and so much more. At first glance, it seems like a story about teenagers living in a small town, but it quickly evolves into something much darker and more intense as they navigate the complexities of high school life, relationships, and their families. What makes Riverdale so gripping is the combination of mystery, drama, and unexpected twists. The show starts with the mysterious death of Jason Blossom, a popular student from a wealthy family, and from there, secrets about the town and its residents begin to reveal. Each season introduces new challenges and darker storylines, including crime, cults, and even supernatural elements. Beyond the drama, Riverdale explores themes of friendship, loyalty, love, and identity. I enjoy consuming media such as TikTok, Riverdale, and K-dramas as they add fun, creativity and lessons to my life. TikTok allows me to express my silly personality, explore trends, and connect with friends and family through shared content. Riverdale brought me a blend of drama, mystery, and tension, whereas K-dramas provide emotional and cultural insights that I find soothing. These platforms and programs allow me to relax, find joy, and feel connected to a greater purpose beyond myself.

These forms of media affect me in different ways. TikTok, for instance, enhances my creativity and expressiveness, but at times I find myself lost in the endless scrolling, resulting in lost time that could be better spent on more important activities such as studying.
